He's nice...but is probably 40-45" from being a state record. Our NYS record typical scores 198 2/8" and woulda netted over 206 if not for two abnormal points. He was the world record typical for 5 yrs. until the John Breen buckfrom MN camewas discovered. A set of 205" (net) 7x7 sheds were also found from this deer 2 years earlier. What tiny little browtines for such a massive rack.

I hunted Steuben county a few times last year............nice area. Just too far away for me to hit it very often. If you want a big buck in NY........Steuben is not a bad place to start looking.

That is a tremendous animal.I can't imagine that he is a well kept secret! I hope you are able to hunt him.The best of luck to you!

I showedan uncle of minethese pics. yesterday. He doesn't live too far from where this deer is at so he checked the area on his way home last night with the spotlight and actually saw the buck from the pics. on the lower part of the road on property that I can hunt. Then, believe it or not, down the road a couple of miles on some winery property right next to his house (where I also hunt), he saw anotherbuck that he swears was even bigger! He didn't know how many pointsit had...he just saw a bunchof really long tines asit turned to go into the rows of grapes with two other nice bucks. He's all excited andsaid its definately one of the biggest bucks he's ever seen!I'm gonna have to drive by there tonight and see if I can get some video of this guy!Man, I can't wait for October!
