how many bowhunters only do we have?

Bow only since 1996. I love the bow and there is no comparison to taking a deer with a bow.
The rush, the adrenaline and the nerve shattering experience of having an animal so close to you is unequaled.

Bowhunting only for the last three years. But only because I haven't waterfowl or pheasant hunted in three years. Deer? I'll never go back to gun. Heck, I had given up deer rifle hunting for maybe 8 years before picking up my first bow three years ago.

I use a bow exclusively for deer. Actually, I prefer to use the bow for all game. I only hunt deer and turkey. Never gone deer hunting with a gun or anything else other than a bow. It is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.

With the exception of 1983 to 1988, I have been a bow only hunter since 1963. That includes any leagal animal that I can afford to hunt. Brown, Griz, Moose, Caribou, Goat, and Sheep are mere dreams of a great bowhunt for an oldtimer.

For you folks that like bow only, have you considered using a handgun during your firearms season? I'm not talking about a Thompson Contender that will shoot like a shotgun. I mean a .357 or 41/44 magnum. It can present quite the upclose challenge (which for most bow only hunters is the ultimate enjoyment). Not at all bashing bow only hunters, simply a question.

Bow only here. In my second season. Not allowed to use firearms since 1985. Didn't hunt at all from' 85 to last year. I think the law actually did me a favor. Even if I was allowed to gun hunt again I can't see doing it. It's bow hunting or fishing, or hacking on this 'ol cowputer! Im even giving up golf so I can spend more money on my bowhunting accessories! LOL

Nope! Bowhunting is my passion! But I still use the shotgun mostly for the tradition. I'm also thinking of getting a smoke pole. I just plain love to hunt so I'll take full advantage of all seasons.
