I have considered using Deer Cain but I always heard mixed results about it. It's ok to bait in TX btw.

Yes that takes you out of the "fair chase" category and puts you in the "not legal" category if your hunting that spot in Pa.[:@]

so true reacher. And what is the difference b/w that and sitting smack dab in the middle of an orchard I know they visit every evening, or along a well used trail leading into a corn field?

Sorry Might, didn't mean to makeany false accusations but initially you didn't mention WV. You raise a great point about hunting oaks, hickory and other nut producing trees, not to mention crops and fruit producing trees.

I go through 100 pounds of corn a week in two "baiting" sites. I don't hunt over them though because I have never in my life seen even a decent buck come to bait. In fact, I have seen them go out of their way to avoid the area. I know others have had the exact opposite experience, but for around here, I set out "bait" to keep the does around and then use them as my real bait come the rut.
