Default Record Book Buck Poll

1. If you arrowed a buck that would make P&Y would you have if officially scored and entered?

2. What about most of the other hunters in your area?(Majority as you think)

Also what is your state? Reason i'm curious is that there are some places in the US where everybody enters their buck if it'll make P&Y books, and in other places nobody will officaially score or enter their buck unless it's in the B&C size.

btw, I think the majority of them here would enter...Also I think the majority of bowhunters in general would enter! just look around at how people talk, at how the magazines read, tv shows, etc etc.....that in itself should answer your question! its not about having fun anymore, its about killing as much, as often, and as big as you can! Unfortunatly thats how I see it anyways IMHO!

My goal has always been and will remain to shoot a record book buck. Last year I tagged a nice 13 pointer that I think would make in P&Y. I will probably never have him officialy scored. I think the only way I would enter one in the books is if I got lucky enough to make b&c. Otherwise it is just a personal goal of being able to be in the books.

Well I for one would not enter one unless I thought it was a state record or close, I just do not see coughing up the bucks just to get your name in a book. I would enter it in the Va. yearly contest though, where I hunt most guys love a big buck, but do not see the importance of having thier name in a book. I am not knocking anyone who wants thier name in the book, it is not something I really feel any need for unless I was pretty sure it was near the top.

No desire to enter PY. Can but won't. I have friends that have and it attracts to much attention to the general hunting area.

I don't think I would. The buck I shot last year would be close, but I have no desire to see my name listed with thousands of others, and have to pay for it. I would enter a B&C. Usually the only bucks entered in my area are for B&C, not many people enter in the Pope and Young.

I dont think I would enter anything unless it was un-godly large. I live in Pennsylvania and, the people in this state, for the most part, don't care about entering their bucks into the books. It doesn't matter the size. You can go around here and see tons of 140" bucks hanging on barns, that have never been entered. Most people just don't really care about the "book" here. This is part of the reason why so many people view this state as having so few big deer, not alot of the big ones are put into the books.

I have 4 bucks that would make the PY minimum but have not entered any of them. My largest...a 172 inch 10 pointer...almost inspired me to enter into the record book but I never have. If I ever take a buck that scores over 180 I would probably enter it. I have friends that have gotten PY bucks as well but none have entered them. The PY minimum and the PY scoring system are very much a part of our hunting character however. I am from Kansas.

from PA, and i doubt I'd ever enter a buck unless it was a state record. Seriously don't think I'll ever be faced with that dilemma.
