Default Different style broadheads

I'm going on a elk huntSept 1standhave always used Muzzy 100 grain heads. The guide prefers cut on contact broadheads but will let you use chiesel type heads. Should I change to a cut on contactwith the same blade and body style as muzzys only with a cut on contact head this close to the hunt? Never, ever had a problem with Muzzys but then again I've never been elk hunting either.Anyone have pros and cons of cut on contact's?

Rick, I took my bull elk with a Muzzy tipped Beman Trophy Hunter 70/90 back then out of a 70lb Hoyt Tenacity...my arrow passed through and went another 15 yards and buried in the ground. I watched the guy I went with knock a bull of it's feet with a Muzzy at 10 yards...I don't think you'll have a problem with Muzzy's...remember, big animal, shot placement...dead animal.

ps, my bull went about 60 yards and I watched him go down, the blood trail looked like a Tractor/trailer lost a hydraulic hose...have a great hunt.

I would say that if your set up is pushing good KE then not to worry. If you are borderline and not spitting them out too fast, then maybe try the coc.

Rick, I just walked in the door after picking up another 1/2 dozen muzzys and read this! Your muzzys should be fine for the task at hand. If you still feel the need to switch to a cut on contact head, muzzy has a few of them that look pretty good too.

I will keep the Muzzy's on,really don't want to switch now, will be plenty good with my new Allegence I do beleive. Just last night got it dialed in. This was the first time my broadheads didn't hit where my field points did though. Will put the super finesight inon it this weekend. Thanks all.
