Montec gets a thumbs up
I am in the final prep stages for the start of antelope season in 3 days, Yahoo for archery season. I was doing my final checks and stepped back to 50, just for kicks, even though I will never take a 50 yard shot in a real world situation. The montecs proved to be spot on flyers. This is a 3 inch dot from 50 yards. Needless to say that I am very happy with the results. I shot 4 arrows and all 4 were in the dot.
I am not trying to start a controversy by stating my equipment, but this will show you what I strive for.
:12% foc
:4 inch helical vanes
:454 grain arrow
:268 fps( I like to be around the 270 mark for minimal broadhead planing)
: well tuned bow for great fixed blade flight and penetration.
I did get to shoot in the wind with these also, and the flight was very good with this setup in the wind.
Bring on the speed goats!!!!!!!!!

RE: Montec gets a thumbs up
Thanks motown, I am really pumped right now. My elk hunting supplies have been in for a month now, and the water hole is swarmed with goats. I now have my bow ready and clothes packed. All my house chores are caught up. This waiting is killing me!!!!
