contacts?
#11
I tried contacts when I was younger and my eyes simply wouldn't except them, but that was all the time not just when I was shooting or something like that.
I have wore glasses for many years now.
Not sure what your problem is but I'd go back to the eyedoctor.

You need to wear them on a daily basis give you're eyes awhile to get used to them. Maybe u have a stigmatism in ur shooting eye also. I have one in my right eye which is my shooting eye when i close my left eye stuff is a touch blurry through my right. They can not correct that with contacts but with glasses they can. My bet would be you have a stigmatism. Start wearing you're contacts on a daily basis and see if it clears up. Best of luck.

thanx guys im going to try to figure it out. deerslayer....i have astigmatism in BOTH eyes. thats the only reason i need lenses believe it or not. and yes they make contacts to correct astigmatisms(also bifocalcontacts now too actually) many people say that they dont make either contacts but they do now. they havent gotten it perfect. he told me my best vision will be with my glasses and he is right. i cant tell what the contacts do. my glasses are a big improvment in size, blurriness and even color. glasses cleared it right up. ill definently keep trying with the contacts though. thanx guys

If you have astigmatism, I would bet that your lens is spinning slightly when you shift your eyes to that angled position when you shoot, causing your axis to change. With astigmatism, your axis has to be dead nutties to see perfect. If the contact is inverted (inside out) or your axis is a few degrees off, you won't get as sharp of picture. Toric lenses are weighted and desinged to stay at the axis that they are which depending onyour RX is between 0 and 180. If that axis is off by a mere few degrees things will be out of focus. The higher the astigmatism the greater the demand that your lensesstay anchored. Try focusing more through the center of the lenses when shooting and see if that makes a difference.

michiganarcher.....i have 66 toric lenses...not sure what that means or how bad my astigmatism is, but i bet thats the problem. ill have to try it again and see if i can make them work for me. that first night i shot 3 arrows between rain showers and it was tough and i wouldnt be accurate. blurry and almost like a double vision on the pins. it was wierd.

66 Torics are a very good lens and Bausch and Lomb is a reputable company despite their recent problems with Renu cleansing solution. I bet money that your axis is shifting when you shoot. By practicing with them in, you should start to see improvement. So.... Clean those babies up, pop'm in and you'll be Robin Hooding arrows in no time! Good luck!

When I got contacts, my shootings instantly got better. I have never had a problem with them when they are in right.
I have however had them get pinched in my eye when I blink and me have to slide them back into place.
