Which Carbons To Get for Trykon?
#1
I've always been a Carbon Express shooter (well for 5 years now anyway). Last fall I had a new set of Carbon Express Camo shafts cut for my old bow, and to make a long story short, they don't work so well with my new Trykon. My old bow didn't fit me the greatest and the arrows are too short to shoot with broadheads (can shoot them with field points).
My Hoyt dealer is an Easton arrow pusher, Epics, Axis, etc. He is pushing me to get the Axis shafts. I did, however, buy my Carbon Express arrows from him last year. Only they cost quite a bit more (camo shafts).
So, what do you guys think I should get? Trykon has 29" draw length, 60/70lb limbs, Trophy Taker Pronghorn rest. Will be shooting XP Pro Spitfires, and Muzzy/and or Wasp Hammer SST broadheads.
PS - if anyone is interested in some Carbon Express Camo shafts, 27.5", 4560s, with white wraps, let me know, I need to move them! Only been shot a dozen times maybe, have pictures and can take more, look brand new!

Well I got a Trykon last December and bought a dozen of Axis shafts for them. I never got to shoot anything with it, but those Axis shafts are awesome in my opinion. They are very hard hitting and penetrate a lot better than the old Beman Hunters I used to use. I have never tried the carbon express, but I really like my axis arrows. My Trykon is a 29" draw and set on #72.JMO

I would go with the Carbon express maximas 350. I have the 250s for my bow and they are the best thing since sliced bread. I love em. They are topped off with bulldog collars(to prevent robin hoods) and then blazed. Totally sweet. They fly like darts.

I don't think you can go wrong with Axis arrows. I watched one of my buddies (Waltwitmann, member) at a 3D shoot almost miss all the targets and stuck half the trees in the woods. He only had one arrow left at the end of the day (because some flew off and were lost). He stuck 4to5 trees with one arrowspliting some of the smaller onesin half. We both had to pull on a couple to get them out and the arrow still had no damage. Ive never seen an arrow take that abuse in my life and still be perfectly fine to keep shooting.

first off. it was the first shoot of the year and ol' PMSchammel talked me into going to a shoot right after I junked the trophyridge matrix for a cobra sidewinder that had not even been set up yet. and i had two arrows, one i did loose and the other just refused to break... it was amazing; these arrows are truly the toughest shaft on the market!!!

For my TRYKON I prefer the finest arrows manufactured by Carbon Express, the CX 3D Selects, and they shoot exceptionally well. In fact, these are THEmost precise shafts I've ever seen. Their tolerances are as impressive as ANYTHING in the industry and in fact, no Easton arrows are that exact. IMHO, stay with CX just upgrade to the Selects.

Are you shooting Mechanicals thru the double bull blind netting? If so, how does that work? My buddies and I haven't got the courage to try it, don't really want to spoil a shot if they opened up. I will probably stick with the Carbon Express shafts. Hate to switch something that has worked very well for me.

Rammer, My Trykon is peaked at 70# and I too have a 29'' draw and shoot 29'' arrowsoff of my trophy taker. I shoot carbon express maxima 350's and I am really impressed with them. I shot them out of my old Xtec too. I have Beeman ICS camo 400's and they too shoot excellent out of the Trykon although they are a little underspined for the poundage. I just have a ton of the Beemans from back when Ihad an Xtec set at 60#'s and these are now for my 60# Tribute. Honestly, I don't think you can wrong with any of these new arrows out. I just would stick with the carbons over alluminum; just my preference. If the bow is tuned properly ,any high quality arrow should fly perfectly out of the Trykon, after all; you have the FINEST BOW ON THE MARKET...LOL...OK Motown, tell me how great a mathews is.
