Well guys, i was out bowhunting deer on my property. Some of you probably remember the whole sika business back from the spring(they escaped from nearby outiftter ranch)anyways i was in my treestand, big gucci permanent stand i built in the summer, comfortable, and geuss what, i fell asleep!!! I was probably out for 20-30min, and when my eyes opened up i saw a Whitetail doe and a 4x5 sikka! I had basically decided to hold off on the hunting of the sikkas, they basically stayed on the swamplands, but this one came way up on the dry land and was eating at my bait pile, it was gorgeous (as you see in the pic) I drew back my 70# Highcountry bruteforce, said a quick prayer, and released the beman ics hawk with 100gr thunderhead, The buck (stag i think they are called) went 80yards, i saw where he fell over so it wasn't a very hard tracking job, he dressed out at 90lbs which i think is a good size for these deer, i took it to a dnr station and got some pics, the dnr appriciated that i checked it in with them....(it is legal to hunt thses as they are considered a nuisance animal as they are not native to michigan) ill let the pictures do the rest of the talking.....What a great first bowkill eh?

Deerhuntr, congrats on the stag. It's funny, I was in my stand on Saturday thinking, "I wonder if that guy with the sikas on his property got one yet." Kind of freaky, huh?
