RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
Hey fatsbucknut have your buddy nock an arrow and take a look down the arrow and see if you can see daylite around the arrow if not then have him spred out the wb till he see daylite around arrow not to big just
enough to see daylite the only part the arrow should have contact with is the black brushes at the bottom so you should see daylite around the brown brushes. |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
ORIGINAL: tschammel There metal prongs. Do you mean They're metal prongs?? Your supposed to put these on. You do have a noisy rest your just to looney to admit it. That makes a lot of sense. Do your little quote thing that you always do and write something back. I wantthis to go on for 17 more pages. This is fun! |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
ORIGINAL: Dipsnort ORIGINAL: atlasman This will be year 4 with this rest.....no problems yet.....tens of thousands of shots and well over 100 trips into the woods. |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
ORIGINAL: statjunk My drop away hasn't ever made any noise and the adhesive felt that covers the prong and the containment bar have never shown any signs of peeling or movement. I've tested it with an arrow locked into position by vigorously shaking the bow and rarely does the arrow move because of how pitched the prong is but when it does come out of there it only makes very quite ding sounds. This is with me shaking the $hit out of it. Tom Does your rest contain the arrow all the time?........even if you draw and let down? I'm not sure what you mean by "locked into position" |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
Atlasman,
I apologize, but I was just trying to have a little fun with ya. These threads just get rediculous sometimes, so did I. Sorry I have a drop away and love it, and never have had a problem with it. You have a WB and abviously loveit and never have problems either.Thats a good thing. |

RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
And before you ask......That's the FIRST thing I do when I knock an arrow when I'm on stand. I draw back and let off. My prong stays up.
And...just to be fair....I AM one who has owned both of these type rests, too (WB and drop away....not just you). I have as much a right to post to those wanting to know as anyone. If you didn't know my arrow stayed contained when I let down....then I'm betting I know as much (consumers utilize your own judgement) or more about YOUR rest than you obvisouly knew about mine. When someone comes on here and asks a question about the rest I utilize.....I'd expect ALL those who've owned it or used one to say what THEY've (pretty good, huh?) experienced while using it. I won't be so pompous as to tell them that I and four of my friends are the only ones in the world that are qualified to set them up and comment on them, though.....which (whether you fully comprehend it, or not) IS what you're saying to all others. I've had enough of this thread. Carry on. jeff |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
ORIGINAL: statjunk I just don't understand why anyone would buy a WB with all the Full Containment Drop Aways that are on the market, except for price. A good drop awayfully contains, speeds up your arrow, is quiet as long as you have fabric on the prong and doesn't make contact with your arrow or fletchings. My arrow increased 3 fps just switching between a tradition 2 prong rest and a drop away. Someone please explain where the advantage of the WB is, other than price? Tom Maybe it' like that Geico commercial; sorry we didn't know that there were cavemen still not using a dropaway....LOL...11 pages of this crap WOW!!!! ![]() |
RE: Whisker Biscuit making noise???
Atlasman,
When I nock an arrow I can manually lift the prong into position and it locks in the upward position. If I were to draw and let if down the rest would drop back into its position. Hardcorehunter, I'm not saying that no one shouldown a WB because the come stock on a lot of pre-built bows, I just wonder why anyone would choose one over drop away while upgrading since there are so many advantages to a drop away. Other than price that is. Tom |
