Fixed
100 grain Rocky Mountain Titanium.

I've always heard you can't take aquarter-away shot with out taking a risk of the inside blade not opening. I don't know if it's true or not so I'll probably always stick these.

ORIGINAL: PA Bow/Flinter

Fixed: Thunderhead 100's
Same here , although the Magnus Stingers and Buzzcuts are starting to look very appealing . I don't trust mechs and probably never will .

with me being mainly a traditional shooter i have to stick with fixed blades but not only that you split fixed blades into two categories cut on contact and tocar tips {i. e. muzzy, thunderhead}. i ll pick cut on contact anyday of the week, far superior penetration, and less unused kinetic energy to break the skin. but however there are arguments for both sides of the fence. larger cutting diamter in a mechanical generally which equals greater blood loss. i just don't think i could shoot a mech. even with my compound just for the simple fact that something could go wrong. i see that it is my job as the hunter to harvest the animal as quickly and politely as possible, i dont have that comfort with a mech so give me a big ol COC broadhead 3:1 ratio and lets git it on.

Fixed,i've been shooting Thunderheads for 16yrs and see no reason to fix something that ain't broke. They have alwaysdone an excellent job for me in both tuning and with their performance on game.

I like fixed blades as well. As "One with the curve" said, something could go wrong with the mechanical but the fixed blades work everytime.

There needs to be a "both" button it depends on the game I'm hunting:
Mechanicals for: deer, caribou, black bear
Fixed blades for: moose, goats, brown bear
I'd use mechanicals for everything but the law-of-the-land up here doesn't allow it.

I would have voted for "Both" if I had the option. Shoot mechanicals almost all the time unless I'm sitting in the Double Bull, then its fixed Wasp Hammer SSTs.
