It was probably a sparrow or a blackbird when I was around 6 or 7.

Countlesstweety birds, chipmunks andred squirrelsdied at the crack of the Crosman Pumpmaster, and were then promptly fed to my hungryaccomplice, Cookie Monster (the sidekickmutt dog). Apparently, at some point, I managed to damage some Bell Atlantic telephone lines with a BB while picking blackbirds off the wires in front of the house. I got good and grounded for that little escapade. LOL

It didn't take me long to figure out how to hunt food sources either, because I definitely remember getting yelled at by my mother for staking out the birdfeeder, ready to makedog foodout of the next finch who flew in to nab a quickbite of bird seed.

I even remember sneaking out a few pieces of bread and made my own "foodplot" in the yard and sat over it, just plugging them as they came in. LOL

Some kids wanted candy. I wanted a bag of stale bread.

My first was a dove with a slingshot. Second was a chipmonk with a 12 GA. shotgun. Maybe a little bit of overkill but hey, I had fun doing it

I believe my first legal harvest was a dove with my dad's old 410 single shot. After that my next was a doe that I took with my old Golden Eagle Predator bow.

8 years old ...ADove with a 28 ga. Single shot. I couldn't even see it, Dad was pointing it out, it had landed in a "V" of a tree. I still hadn't seen it, I just leveled the bead on the V and shot. The dove fell dead!

Later the same morning a Fox walked through our set-up.. I exclaimed quite loudly"Dad Look at the cute dog" ..as the fox took off ,dad emptied his 5 shot browning autoloader (plugged to 3 of course) at it. We still laugh at that one!

I'm guessing either a possum with a 22 in one of my dad's traps, or a starling or sparrow with my trusty crossman BB gun.
