Default bowhunting and dip/chew

now I dont do either but I know people who have bagged big bucks while dipping in their stand. They swear it doesnt effect their hunting at all. I would think it would. Peach dip and others have a very strong smell. I would think deer wouldnt even get near it. Does anyone dip or chew while they hunt? Does it effect your hunting?

Reminds me of a time when my father left his chew along withthermos on a stump where he was hunting. I went back to get it for him and shot a nice 6pt that was pawing and sniffing around the bag.

Never had a problem with it. Alot of the time I'll spit in a bottle though. But not always. Last year after I shot a doe I sat in the tri-pod and lit up a smokeand still had deer come in. You just never know.

As long as deer don't associate the scent with danger, I don't think they have a problem with it.

Granted, this may not be true for monster bucks, but for does and smaller bucks I think that this is the case.

Never had a problem with it, I dip redseal natural.Last Season with leagacy Itried the bottle, even wrap it with camo tape but sometimes the bottlewould make a popping noise whenI wastrying to open it. Put the bottle up real quick, started spitting on the ground. I video taped some trophy class bucks for 3 days while doing this. It never fazed them.....

Never seemed to bother any that Ive noticed but I always spit in a small plastic bottle so I dont think my response counts lol, I worry about anything that could possibly ruin my hunt andI try not to dip, but when I get in a stand early or its slow going I'll take a pinch.

I dip on stand all of the time. I have opened the can and put a dip in while there were deer less than 20 yards away. They never looked up?

I still try to spit in a bottle or something as much as possible. Most times I don't spit at all. [:-]
