Scored a new hunting spot. What to do about ticks!!

Peromone works great! But read the can before you use it. Do not get this stuff on your skin and spray your clothing and let it stand in the air 24 hrs before you wear it. This can be some nasty stuff and can be a carsonigin. So read and heed before you use.

Don't put the dog collars on your skin. Just pick 'em off when you get out of the woods, that's about the most effective way to deal with the. permethrin/permanone can cause cancer if skin is directly exposed so use caution.

I have good luck with the Bug Tamer suits. I tuck the pants into my snake boots and then spray the leg/boot area with DEET repellent. I also have seen some kind of underwear called Rhino Skin or something but have not spent the money to try that yet. We have tons of ticks here in the pine forests of NC.

Repel with Permanone or any permathrin based repellent is the way to go. Treat your clothes, let them dry, and its pretty much scent free and lasts a while. The stuff really works at keeping ticks off.

About tick spray smell you have 2 choices:
1) Use the spray and hunt the wind so that if it does smell at least only the deer downwind smell you.
2) Don't use the spray and get eaten alive by ticks.
Choice #1 is ALWAYS the answer for me now after choosing #2 several times before. I still have tick bite scars on my ankles from moving stands last summer.
