What's the most UNDERUTILIZED piece of archery equipment?
#1
OK, I'm bored and things have been a little slow around here, guess it's summer or something....[&:]
We have a plethera of tools at our disposal. Good clothing, good stands, blinds, boots, arrows....blah blah blah......Of all the hunting equipment out there......( NOT INCLUDING OUR BRAINS......that's just too obvious.....) What do you think the most underutilized tool is?
I would have to say maps. Topos are a great way to predict deer movement. I've been learning alot about maps and GPS in the last year and it is really fascinating. My deer sightings have gone up, my scouting time is lessened (which is good because the less intrusion the better) and I don't get lost so frequently....[&:][8D]OK, I've never gotten lost, but maps really do help.

I may have to agree with you, because I hardly ever use maps. (Of course, I've pretty much been hunting the same piece of ground for the last several years...)
I just won a brand new handheld GPS by Garmin a couple months ago, so I'd like to learn how to use it.

Been using a gps for a while and they are a great tool, keep the batteries fresh, it's a hungry tool. Had a problem in some thick fog once.
Hunt new places a lot and a map/topo/(large tracts) is a must. I just like to get them and have some I haven't even been to yet. Pretty cheap if you ask me.
I'd have to say books.

Natural cover. While the likes of Bucky GreenBacks has flooded magazines, televisions, and archery stores withevery concievable style ofelevated shed, platform, and tent, dolled up in the mostglossy fabrics and tropical finishes thatwould be approving of Issak Mizrahi, many forget or don't even realize the most effective and enriching blinds to hunt from are all around them!
