I try to support the small local shops. Even though I will spend money at the big places also.

Small shops have more time for shooting the breeze and general info on whats going on in your neck of the woods.

Like whats hot on the trout streams and rivers, if turkeys are gobblin and when the rut is picking up. All info you can use to support your own lies. Oh, I mean stories.....

well I'm going to have to say "small ones" because we own and operate a small onlinestore that is cheaper than the big guys! But I do have to admit that it is fun to go to Cabelas or Bass Pro and see all the mounts, antique guns, fish tanks etc. etc.....but I try to keep my money in the small local stuff.
