I have had a button buck and a tiny doe walk past my treestand the last few mornings, should I go ahead and shoot the doe, or hold out for a bigger doe or buck? I will not shoot the button buck. And this is only my second year bowhunting, and I took a doe last year. So I am asking all of you fellow hunters. Thanks for the advice!

There is certainly nothing unethical about shooting the small doe, it is just a matter of personal preference. I know of a few guys who shoot the small ones pretty regularly and do so because they are primarily hunting for meat and the smaller ones tend to taste better.
I personally don't shoot the small ones, but that is just me. If you're comfortable with it then go ahead. Just the fact that you're asking others tells me that you're on the fence and maybe you should hold out.
I know I probably only confused you more but do what your gut tells you.

rflugge I feel your anguish, the choice is yours, I have not had my first bow kill and had one opportunity this year at a fawn(no spots), but I could not bring myself to draw the bow, the mother was about 30 yards from her and I just couldn't do it. I hold nothing against anyone popping one that young if they wish.

I've shot small deer, and there is nothing wrong with it. Think of it this way. If there is a tough winter, which is the first deer to die? The small ones. Don't hang your head if you shoot a small one.
