Do ya'll agree, or disagree?

You know, we hear alot about how you should get the "best" equipment you can afford. I have ALWAYS been skeptical about that. I was raised believing the middle of the road is the way to go. I have always shot decent equipment, never junk, and always thought I was a pretty decent shooter. Well, here recently I upgraded everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, and all of a sudden my groups shrank, my confidence soared, and I most certainly am shooting better now than I have ever shot in my life.
So, here's the thing. Do you guys believe that better (more expensive) equipment can make you instantly a better shooter, or is it more the person holding the bow and not so much the equipment?

i would say that it is more the person holding the bow than the equipment but equip def. has somthing to do with your groups and the better confidence just came from you paying more for those better things but it is probably about 70 mental/30 eqip. imo

I'd say it could go both ways.
Give chuck Adams a PSE Nova and he'd out hunt & outshootme even if I had the latest and greatest.
Give Jeff Gordon a pinto and he'd outdrive me if I was in a formula-1 car.
Better arrows would probably make anybodies groups shrink smaller than crappy ones though.

its both the person and the equipment. i do construction and i find the more expensive better equipment make it easier to do the job with better
precision . i can still do a great job with cheaper stuff its just easier with better stuff. Now you can still do a lousy job with good equipment if you do not have the skills. the same would apply to other things in life

There's a line of diminishing returns. Some places(arrows) are better than others to channel your money. Some guys will shoot just as good with a $1000 rig as $300 one.

Top quality equipment helps you be the best at what ever you do. You get what you pay for. With out the skills to use the best equipment to it's fullest though is a problem for many.

My opinion is that the better the equipment the better your "misses" will be. What I mean by that is if you give a terrible golfer Tiger's clubs he isn't gonna start shooting in the 70's..........but his horrible shots will now be bad.......his bad will be ok.........and his good will be real good. If you miss hit a 25 cent golf ball with a $5 club it will be an ugly sight. Miss hit a $5 golf ball with a $400 club and it still won't be pretty........just not as ugly.
Top shelf stuff won't make you better alone........but the forgiveness and confidence you get along with it will help.
