Now a days all hunters need to be better educated in these things. There are a lot of people trying to take away many things we take for granted. A lot of so called animal lovers are pushing to regulate/reduce hunting opportunities we currently enjoy. When I lived in VA there was a push to establish a fishing license for the Chesapeak Bay and use that money to clean up the bay. Lots of local do gooders even agreed but wanted the money to improve roads. I'm not sure what happened but all the proposals were stopped while I lived there.

Sportsmen spend a lot of big bucks and we need to make sure as much of the taxes we pay go for the things that create and enrich the environments in which we hunt and fish. If we do not pay attention and get involved we are going to loose out on a lot of opportunites. Additionally all this money has a major impact on the economy. I read not long ago that the deer season alone brings over 2 billion dollars in to the PA economy.

You don't have to be a follower of LaPierre to belong toNRA either. He's like the 3rd or 4th guy sitting in that chair since I joined.

You guys remember that Clinton wanted to use P-R money to fund 'animal rights' and anti-hunting programs? If it hadn't been for the NRA, we wouldn't have known about that until it was too late.

I was reading the other day in the news paper that they were thinking about applying it to other sporting goods like hiking and boadting equipment to help support the failing federal forrests.
It's called logging and it's free and/or the companies will pay for the privlage.
