I haven't shopped at Wal-Mart in years! I couldn't care less about their gun sales, I just hate sending all our money (and jobs) straight to China!
Years ago Sam Walton built his reputation selling goods Made in America...I bet he's spinning in his grave!

I bought my .30-.30 from walmart. Best gun I have ever purchased. You do realize that if you buy a gun from walmart, the manufacturer still has the same warranty on it than if you would buy that gun from a gun shop.

Same gun, different store. I saved $100 on mine.

Because I was hesitant, I took my gun immediately to a gun shop to have it checked out. The gun smith said it was the same quality that they sell.

So walmart not having guns in every store? Oh well, I got mine and am glad I bought it.

I don't think it has anything to with image per say. Probably has more to do with sales. If they don't sell a lot of guns and hunting equipment in the larger cities (and why would they) why should they waste the money stocking it?

I don't buy very much stuff like that at walmart anyway.

I just bought a 270 syn model 7400 from wal mart. I payed 365 dollars
for it, a savings of a 150 dollars. We have 2 super walmarts here in
Eau Claire a city of 65,000, which is nice because the wife drags me along
sometimes, so I just hang out in the sporting good dept until she is done.

Unfortunately, you're right...but I'd rather spend my money at smaller, locally owned stores. Those people support my business, so I reciprocate! If it costs me a few extra bucks so be it!
