Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

Following up on the heels of Shed's "Who'd you like to hunt with the most?" thread, which I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of HNI members named in --and not just the big marquee professional names -- who generates the best threads and/or responses, for you, here on HNI?

I'll share my favorites later on, as I don't want to influence the early results, though I'm sure that they'll be mentioned fairly soon anyway.

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

i find cardeers threads pretty hailarious , and knowledgable....

But i also think it is hard to just pick one member , depending on the topic , all the people here have awesome threads , with the occasional stupid ones that some people put up just to complain.....

i'm with justin, except i think i do, though i like his too.

sometimeslen, anyone posting pictures of my work, me, bucknasty, there's this one foreigner who talks funny..

crud, i almost forgot all the bowtech staff shooters who don't let you know who they are in their sig.

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

I like Gibblets posts about strings and hearing him talk about how I would “flip out” on back tension. His posts are always short and to the point, thus making them funny to me. I think one of my favorites was when I typed a long 3-page thread and then all Gibblet had to say was… “I wish I found myself that interesting”. I had to laugh; it was a good dig.:D

I like Greg/MO posts about arrow fletching and cresting. He always has great pictures to get his point across. Plus he just seems to be a all around nice guy. I wish I was more like that. :)

I like Arthur’s posts even though we have completely opposite views about gear and hunting techniques. I like his posts because they are very detailed, well thought out, logical, have heart, plus he shows complete confidence/courage in what he believes in. I only wish he was into the techy side of archery…his posts would then be the best of the best for me.[:@]

I like Lens posts about arrows and characteristics of them during flight. The details behind the scenes in what I find interesting. I like how Len gets all worked up over member personalities, leaves for a few weeks and then returns when he re-gathers his composure. [>:]

Lady Forge posts seem to have a wealth of knowledge waiting to come out. I think when she learns to let it all “fly”, we will learn allot. She is holding out on us for sure. I think her experience, contacts/resources will bring allot of benefits to this forum.

I like all the other members who post to tell me not to worry about the details and to just go shoot my bow. YEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWW!!! These people motivate me to search and dig deeper for more knowledge and wisdom of this sport; they also remind me of how different we each are, and the benefits of such an environment.

I like anyone that will say the way it is or the way they feel. Poeple that hide behind their monitor and go with the general consensus can kiss my @$$. Be a straight shooter and tell us what you think, good bad or indifferent I can respect that. I dont care if you disagree with me, as long as we can discuss it like adults and not children I will respect your posts!

You Greg.

:)

Sorry, but you were askin' for it. I have to constantly remind myself what screenname you once went by. ;)

One of my favorites would probably be Matt/PA. He always has a way of introducing his personality into his posts...and he has a great sense of humor. There are alot of other folks whose posts I look for and enjoy reading as well.

Cayugad

He is in the muzzleloading area mostly. He never has a bad word against anyone and he is always upbeat and positive and he knows his stuff. If you have a muzzleloading question he usually has the right answer.

I enjoy just about all of the posts, except the ones where someone posts just to complain or read their own writing. Therefore, it is hard for me to single out any one person as my favorite.

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

There are truely so many great contributors here, if there wasn't, half of us wouldn't come back over and over for years!

My favorites are: and I am sure this is bias to the bowhunting forum since I spend most of my time here....

ANTLER EATER, Hehas a talent with words...not to mention his hunting skills, I would love to hunt with him someday! I would be honored.

GregH and GregMO, both good guys that really love their whitetail bowhunting, it showsand they know what they are doing. I read all of their posts.

Rack Attack, he is one of kind, and a hell of a hunter and FUNNY! He calls it like he sees it! I miss not having him around as much, since he opened his archery shop.

David M., many times I dont even post an answer to a question because David M. already has it answered better than I could. He's a cranky ole fart, reminds me of my uncle! Knows his stuff, period.

TJF, I think he's the most underated hunter here, this guy knows whitetails and how to kill them and hes been doing it for a long time! His son Tyler is a stud too! They area shed hunting, scouting, buck hunting fools! They will both continue to put maturebucks down.

Buckeyebuckhunter, I think Scott is assolid as a rock, knows his stuff and puts a lot of time (yeararound)into what he loves, hunting big mature Ohio whitetails. I always enjoy reading Scotts imformative posts and questions.

Tribal, I really enjoy his field journals and posts, I almost forgot him because I havent seen him around as much, but I have always looked forward to his perspective on things.

Motownhonkey! He knows his stuff, proves it and is good fella, I never pass up his posts. I'd love to sit and pick his brain someday.

Rybohunter, Ryan is very bright and a darned good hunter and gets it done in PA on tough pressured whitetails, I cant wait to have him out this fall for elk. I know I will learn something with him around.

Quicksilver, Now hes one smart fella, very intelligent and a little crazy! I love his posts and get a kick out of his sense of humor, again hes been great to have on a team and he too is very consistent on PA bucks, year after year.

Washington Hunter, bright young lad thats about to graduate from H.S. I have really appreciated what Wash has brought to our forum, he and Josh Keller both, they started as young teens. Both of them are bright young men that aren't afraid toquestionus old timers, yet they are respectful in their approach.

Rob, I think he does as good of a job at posting and making this place run smooth as anyone. Hes a class act and a heck of a hunter. He does a lot for this place, we'd miss him if he was gone.

Double Creek, He's just a great guy that I always check out what he has to say, I appreciate his perspective on things, its solid and sound.

Shatodavis over in the big game forum is probably my favorite read over there! He's a great guy and well accomplished hunter.

Kshunter, I have always enjoyed what he is up too and what he has to say.

I will finish with the boss! Justin, hes a great guy, smart, funny and makes things run smoothly around here. Thanks for putting up with all of us!

I know I am leaving guys out... there are just too many that do a great job. There are a few too that I wish would post more, they mostly read and listen and say little, but they have a lot to offer. I think its just their nature.

EDIT, I knew I would do this! EXTREME 1, Bobby, Mobowhunter, Nubo, Skeeter, Hiawathaand Pat ELY...all great to talk too andIlook forward totheir posts..

hmmm------seems everything I got to say goes in one ear and out the other---lol:(
But on a serious note,I personally dont like to pick my favorites.
I believe everyone on the board has a certain talent, gift as you will,on different subjects.Thats what is keeping me here on my time off work and play.
There are alot of good, educational posts, and there are certain people who will offer alot of knowledge on the certain subject, and others who will say something just to hear themselves or jump up their post count. But to me they are all interesting in one way or another:)

I would say ALMOST everyone on the forum--(except for a few).
They're posts I'll open immediately on seeing the name of the thread starter and yes they are many on this forum. Missing for a few months are the likes of Pinwheel12, Rack Attack--don't see BuckMagnet around much--must be having problems with his equipment again ;). Belle Island, but I think he has changed to Double Creek (I'm not sure), JeffB, the boys from BowTech, oh, lots fo guys have great stories and experience on this forum. Davidmil, Len, Ausie-Guy, Greg/MO (MQ1), WWAG, Cougar, Rob/PA, HNI Justin, Lady Forge, Matt/PA--I could go onand on.
I really enjoy this forum.

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

Hey guys, glad some of you enjoy my posts [&:]

There are so many guys on here that I really enjoy reading their posts but I will try to make a list here.

PABowhntr, Franks posts are always well thought out and very informative.
Matt/PA, I enjoy his posts even though he is deathly scared of me

Buckeyebuckhntr, great guy with a passion for hunting that really shows through, plus he is a pretty good trash talker.

Big John, he makes some great posts on here but trust me guys, he is even funnier in person plus he has helped me learn more about archery equipment than anybody else.

nubo, you just can't find a nicer guy out there

Arthur P, he keeps everybody in check with their high tech gadgets

Greg/Mo, yet again another great guy that really promotes the sport in a good light

RACK-ATTACk, with a name like that how can't you enjoy his posts

IBM, yeah I enjoy his posts even though he shoots one of them Mmmm.... Mmmmmm. I just can't say it :D

There are so many other guys that I could list but these are the ones that have really stood out to me over the years I have been visiting this site.

PABowhntr 03-29-2006 05:58 AM

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

Well lookee here...out of the proverbial grave. Where you been hidin' Jason? I haven't seen you posting in ages.

..and thanks. I love exchangin' posts with you folks.

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

I like everybody!!

But if I have to narrow it downsome, I would have to say mainly the old school guys that are still around. Mainly because we have been around here for so long. PABowhntr, BuckMagnet, Rob, Artic, Greg, Matt/PA, Double Creek, etc...

NOt saying I don't like any of the newer guys, just don't know them as well. Cause I like throwing down with ole buckeye in the yearly contest. Except for he usually can prove himself and I prove nothing!!

Then there is Justin...he is #1 on a list of mine...maybe not the good list, but he is not on my bad list like the folks below!!

Matt / PA 03-29-2006 09:09 AM

RE: Who makes your favorite Huntingnet posts?

I am flattered to read all the posts with my screenname on them.[:-]

I wish I had the time to post more like I used to. I also would like to see the reinstatement of the H.R.A.O.P.
It still pains me to think of the thousands of posts lost in the various software changes and Justin tripping over the power cord one to many times.;)

So many of you guys I consider friends, the vast majority of the rest I respect and would share hunting time with anytime.

I won't attempt to list all the guys who's posts I enjoy for fear of leaving ANYONE out.

I will say that there are a few who's posts I DIDN'T enjoy over the years....Anyone here long enough to remember "WolfBoyPup"?? That's the closest I ever came to getting in the truck and taking a ride for a little face to face time.:D
What about "Bowhunt4Life" or whatever his name was??......We have had some doosies back in the "lawless" days where we policed our own round' here.

Thank you to everyone for making my time here a quality experience and not the complete waste of time, energy and thought that my wife makes it out to be.;)

I have not been around as much as some of the guys but this site has a wealth of people with a wealth of good ideas and are very welcome to share without much attitude. It is nice for people to want to help the people that are not as seasoned as most of the people here are. Thank You and I look forward to reading many, many more posts!!!
