Picked up my Allegiance (pics)

Called over to the shop on Saturday evening to see if they had Sunday hours..I thought they did not but when they learned my friend was coming into town to shoot the big 3, they said they'd open for me for him to shoot. I inquired about where my bow was I was surprised when they said the bow was there...my friend from the shop hadn't had a chance to tell me. ? Anyway they said come over about 10:00 am and they'll open so we headed over. They already had my Trophy Taker Pronghorn and loop on the bow so I was able to shoot it through the chrony....

But long story short first....;) My friend was dead set on purchasing the Switchback as he shot it many, many times in his hometown....however his Mathews shop which is also a Hoyt shop but doesn't stock Hoyts and pushes Mathews because they make more money on a Mathews sale than they do a Hoyt sale (dealers is that right?). Again he was set on a Switchback....that was until..he shot the Trykon and my Allegiance. I didn't ask him any questions or pursuade him in any way as I wanted him to make up his own mind...I simply assisted him with the bows....When we finally crawled into the truck to leave he look at me and called me a couple choice words.....I laughed at him and said see....it's not an easy decision...he reminded me he was all set for a Switchback and said now, it's probably his bottom of the 3....he loved the draw cycle of the Switchback, thought the Trykon was smoother when he shot it and loved the Allegiance calling it a middle ground from the smooth draw of the Switchback to the draw of the Tyrkon and that it had both qualities and shot much faster....that being said, he's still thinking long and hard and will call with his decision...again, I laughed at him....

Okay, back to my Allegiance.

My Fuse Axium 10" stabilizer and Fuse Katana quiver was backordered so I don't have them on the bow....also, my Viper Predator Pro-MT I ordered from Viper is also in production and not on my bow so I transfered my Super Stix stabilizer from my Hoyt Vortec and threw on my Toxonic Sight and Boss scope. I still have to transfer my Super Peep onto the Allegiance and put a standard peep on my Vortec.

The Birth Cert. from the factory said the bow shot 314...

With my setup/arrow, 381 grain Easton ACC and the bow set at 70 lbs I got 305 fps....very impressive for a 28.5" draw.

I'll post pics if ya'll want but it's not my perm setup as my signature states, I'm waiting on accessories.

Also, I didn't go with the Knotless Loop....he had it on the bow but every shot the loop moved...you just can't get them tight enough without serving them in and since he had the bow tuned, I didn't want to tinker it out of tune so I allowed him to take it off and tie one on...I'll still tinker...I know, I know me. ;)

It always feels good to get a new tool. Congratulations and have fun dialing it in. Have you decided what arrows to shoot? Pictures look great…I need to figure out how to post pics, so I can start showing some pics also.

Great looking bow Rob, congratulations. I will not be selling my Patriot(love it) but hope to add an Allegiance or Old Glory some day.

Oh yeah, the string loop.......I am shooting my first loop after my Bowtech dealer tied one on. So far I love it, but I do admit to checking the burnt ball ends before every shot.[8D]

Congrats Rob, I bought one on Friday. Mine chrono'ed at 301, 29 inch draw, 65 lbs. with a 347 grain X-weave. I love it! While we we tuning it up I got a robinhood infront of all the boys at the shop.

By the way, my shop owner told me that when the vice president of Mathews was informed of the dual-cam setup when it came out he cringed and said "I wish we would have thought of that!"

Yep, what an awesome backdrop to a beautiful bow! :DYou know, I'm starting to get so used to seeing all the special-order colors now that one in Mossy Oak Obsession is kinda unique-looking!

I know you're gonna have countless hours of enjoyment tinkering with her

RE: Picked up my Allegiance (pics)

Ausie-guy, funny you typed that, when you were I was installing the peep and went outside and sighted it in....all ready to go. What a sweet shooting bow...first time I shot it outside...whisper quiet.

kshunter, newman1, nutsbucks, wineguy thanks guys.

MilDotMaster, I've been shooting Easton ACC 3-49s for some time. The 381 grain arrow I was refering to was my own arrows. Posting pictures is easier than it seems, see the comp tech forums for hints or go to the FAQ page.

Cougar Mag, thanks, I had the Knotless loop installed, when shooting in the shop, it's spin...instead of dealing with tweaking it and tying it in or adding weight like nocks, I just had him take it off and tie one on...he said he's never lost one yet....I wasn't even told to check the burnt ends..he said never but I think I'll keep an eye on it. ;)

whitecloudhunter, thank you and thanks again on the house comment... I love it too. ;)

txmarshmonkey, thanks on the bow, the stairs are standing dead pine out of Idaho installed by my contractor and part of my Lincoln Log package, here's a link to more pictures of a virtual tour of my house. http://www.jackandkay.com/building.html

turtleshell, thanks but I didn't want to add more weight went not necessary...I thought about tying it in but it was tuned and I wasn't ready to start tweaking it yet, just wanted to shoot it without needs.....

mobowhuntr, lol, thanks and thanks again....lol I can't wait for the actual accessories, I love the Super Stix and the Tox/Boss scope combo but I'm really anxious on the Viper Predator Pro-MT and Fuse Axium...I won't need the Fuse Katana stabilizer until fall....

metro, congrats on your bow as well...have a great season with it...

nubo, thanks nubo, backorders, [&:] but they'll be here soon enough.

Greg / MO, thanks my friend, I thought you might like these photos...perhaps one day you'll spend some time here, well after dark that is otherwise we'll be in the treestands.

I added the Super Peep to the string, tweaked to get it to line up perfect at full draw and enjoyed sighting in my Tox....can't wait for the Viper Predator Pro-MT but I think I'll shoot my Tox for a little 3D fun....I can't find my darn clearifier for my peep tho....I'll have to keep looking or order another one. It felt good to setup my press and play with bows again...I even repeeped my Hoyt cause I transfered the Super Peep over for the Tox....

RE: Picked up my Allegiance (pics)

Well I guess I won't be seeing my Viper Predator Pro-MT anytime soon. Originally it was due to be shipped mid March....then end of March and now I understand that the production line is being moved and the MT's are on line yet....I'll wait patiently because it's that nice and for now the Tox w/ Boss scope will stay on it.....[&:]

Congrats on the new bow I also switched from Hoyt to Bowtech after about 15 years shootin Hoyts I never thought I'd shoot anything else but I made the mistake of shootin a Bowtech and came home with a Tribute the day I was supposed tocome home with a Trycon;)

Hey Rob,

She sure is pretty, congrats and enjoy her. I loved my Allegiance, she was a sweet shooting machine. That bow amazed me, I don't know how BowTech could tame that much power in that thing. Try shooting a camo-carbon arrow into a 3-D target at 20 yards with that thing, you won't be able to shoot again by the time you get your arrow out :D

I can't wait to see the new sight, let us know when you get it as the Viper line-up is really appealing to me and it might be enough to make me break down and get rid of this Cobra Sidewinder LX I have on my OG.

Hey I haven't been online much. My wife and I, just had a Beautiful Baby Girl on Friday.

I'm glad to see you did go ahead and get the Bowtech to go with the Trykon.
I can't wait to see the big decision of which one you carry on opening day 2006!! That'll show me alot!:D

300ultramagshooter, thanks, I don't consider this bow, "switching" from Hoyt, if you missed my research on the big 3, here's a link. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1421735 I really loved the Trykon as well and if I have my way, I'll own both. I still have a Hoyt Vortec from '01 and still am impressed with it. I've shot Hoyt for more than 10 years myself. You really can't go wrong with any of todays bows.

Oneshot7, thanks pal.

Buck Magnet, I know, I was shooting in the back yard and at 79ftlbs of KE..the arrows were buried in the target....it's a workout pulling them out and I'm anxious for the site but I just ordered a clearifier lens for my SuperPeep since it's been a few years since I've shot my Boss Scope on my Tox sight I couldn't find my peep lens...

Badatta2d, I hope you didn't understand, I don't own the Trkon yet, YET..I put it back when I decided on the Allegiance...now that it's all but setup, I'll put my Vortec up for sale and go back for the Trykon.....AND, Congratulations on the newborn.....you'll have to change your username to Gr8atta2d...she'll steal your heart and soften it as well.

M V. (a o), thanks guy.

Beatiful bow Rob!:D I went back to the shop again yesterday to admire the Trykon some more. I think I am going to go back tomorrow and shoot the Allegiance. I haven't even given any other bow a chance. I do know which ones have a smoother draw cycle but as far as shooting, I have only shot the Trykon.

Again, beautiful bow. What camo pattern is that?

What kind of longbow is that propped up against the fireplace?

Awesome looking set up Rob! Keep us posted as you start to tinker with her. I have been so busy with my business (blessing and curse) I have not been able to go pick up my Tribute. Seeing your pics, along with those of others, is going to make me write a pick up date on my calander ASAP.

Rob/PA Bowyer 03-15-2006 09:47 PM

RE: Picked up my Allegiance (pics)

ducsauce, Yes, you have to shoot several of the bows and especially the Allegiance if nothing else to rule it out over the Trykon. I had a real hard time deciding between these two bows and the Switchback for that matter. No matter which one you decide on, you'll have made the right decision for you but you need to shoot some to make that decision. I can't wait to hear how you make out, it's tough, good luck.

Double Creek, man you have a good eye. That is a very old 61" Bear in only 31#'s...it was given to me by my exfather inlaw for decor. He use to use it as a teenager and took one deer with it. I have another longbow and a fiber recurve on the otherside of the fireplace but what I really like is a set of wooden arrows given to me by my exbrother inlaw whom found them in an oldtimers garage in VA. Here's a couple pics.

rdy2hnt, set that date and pick her up and get her outside to shoot. It's going to warm up so you better get it set up and remember "the post is no good without pics"...good luck.

Thanks Rob....... I'll trade you a cheap, crappy longbow for that vintage collector's item bow.... How's that sound? [8D]

Rob, I can't wait either to find out the outcome. It will be a few weeks b/c I am waiting on the arrival of my tax refund.:D

I think you overlooked my question.;) What camo pattern is your allegiance and which others does Bowtech offer? I really like your bow's pattern. I could not find their camo patterns on their website.

Thank you, Duc

Double Creek, that sounds like a deal,;) .[8D]

Duc, I know what your saying and I apologize, it's the standard Mossy Oak Obsession, I didn't special order Realtree Hardwoods HD brown or green Or Advantage Max 4.... but it's purty, aint it?

Yup, if you missed my revision post you wouldn't know. I did indeed buy the Trykon and 2 days later went back and shot the two again and ended up putting the Trykon back and bought the Allegiance.
http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1421735

I will own both but it's a matter of time....worse case I'll see what next years Hoyt will be and own it...

ADMIN can and will change your name without post count lost if you ask them nice. ;) Congrats again and we'll see you in next years Bowhunting Contest right?

It is purty.:D

I did end up finding those camo patterns on their site. The guy at the shop told me he thought it was $50 more to get anything else other than the Mossy Oak.

I too bought an Allegiance this year (about a month and a half ago) also with a Fuse Axium as well as a fuse quiver, except I opted for the Satori which I may return for the 4 arrow fixed Fuse version. Whenever I stop by the sporting goods store, they always ask how I like the new Bow Tec. All I can say is.....SWEET...... I think that pretty well sums it up short of a dissertation doesn't it??

ducsauce, I was going to reference the Bowtech site and let you know where to find the colors....I really like the MO O....althought Ausie has one in Adv Max and it's purty too.

Jackson, congrats....and your right ...Sweet!
