I hunt pretty close to home. On the first 2-3 weekends I drive 3 hours to my favorite spot. I usually find more deers/ bucks farther away. If you do your homework right any place would do.

I drive 1 hour. Hunting property is hard to come by in Maryland and I feel fortunate just tohave two small farms to hunt.

About an hour, not too long but it some days it seems like forever after sitting on stand for 8 hours in 0 degree weather. but well worth it.

150 yds out behind my house for one spot. 5 mins to my uncle's house for another spot. I hope to acquire some more areas within 5-10 min for the upcoming season. Then the main spot I go on weekends and such is about 45 min or so depending on how bad I wanna get there;) I also have a couple more areas that are about an hour and a half away that I can hunt if I want to, but I might go there only once a year or so. Another uncle lives down there.

45 to 50 minutes to the nearest public hunting ground. Boy it is packed opening day of shotgun but otherwise is not too bad. Of course I have never hunted private before so I have nothing with which to compare it.

I'll drive about an hour to the state forests. I have a nearby public wildlife area about 45 minutes away, but don't hunt it anymore (too crowded, too crazy, etc... [:'(]) But if I really feel froggy, I'll drive 2 1/2 hours to the mountains of VA and hunt out there where there's hardly anyone around.

I hunt all private property, all of which are very good to excellant,IMHO.Of the 14 properties,10 are within a 20 minute or less drive,:).All this did'nt happen by accident,it took a lot of time, effort, and expense to make this happen.
On the other hand,I'm very grateful...Bob

I drive about 40 minutes to my local spot, but every year I spend 1-2 weeks at my friend's farm in Steuben Co., NY...596 miles from my house (about 10-11 hours because of road construction on Rt. 15).
