actually after looking for one all day i found one, gonna have to cross the border but im sure its worth it...they cxarry every single kind of bow and have shooting facilities sounds like a good place...goin there asap what should i expect to pay for a top end bow... im not looking for an exact amoutn but a nice range like 600-800?

That sounds about right for top of the line, maybe a bit more after it's set up. You could spend 600 easy on a bare bow. Then you need sights, rest, release, stabilizer, arrows and a target. Each could cost another hundred dollars if you wanted to spend that much.

You don't have to spend that much though. I have seen plenty of really nice bows in the 3 to 4 hundred dollar range. Look at diamond and reflex. They are made by bowtech and Hoyt respectively. Parker does have some nice packages as well as darton and hoyt. Heck my bowtech Mighty Might was only like 560 bucks bare. My darton was only 350 bare, That was in 2000 though. You don't have to spend 800 bucks on bow to get a good one. Of course by the time you walk out of the store it might cost that much.

i meant just for the bare bow...i know its gonna cost me a couple of hundred bucks just to get the right set up

Hey man, I dont want to influence your decision or anything but when you go to your pro shop shoot the hoyt powertech. Really nice bow for the money and you should be able to get everything for under $800.
