Just wondering if anybody has used this homemade scent eliminator and whether or not it works (perioxide, baking soda, distilled water & unscented shampoo mixture).

I've used just baking soda with success.

I have used baking soda for 3 years and it seems to work pretty well.

you could probably go to a pet or aquarium store and buy the charcoal that they put in fish tank filters...I'm sure it would work very well...you would just need a way to mash it up into a powder and add it to spring water and bingo you have carbon blast....probably the same way someone got rich. It would be very easy to 5 gallons of it for $10 and they sell a quart of it in the store for $9

i have a batch made up for more than a few weeks now and am afraid to use it due to the fact that i am having 6-8 does walk right by my stand every time without being busted yet with the earth scent, i don't want to take that chance without knowing for sure myself if it works. Pretty soon there should be a buck with these does and after i get him then i will experiment with the stuff. i want to know myself. (will be cheaper)

I mixed some of that up and have been using it this year. Seems like maybe it helps, but it sure can't hurt! Jim

I am using the homemade mix from the recipe that was posted on here before the season. I did change the amounts though. I ended up using 96 ounces of distilled water...32 ounces of 3% peroxide...3/4 cup of baking soda....1 ounce of unscented soap. When I used the original recipe, the peroxide smell was way to strong, even after it sat for 2 weeks.
BTW, I have had deer all around me and have not been busted yet!

Bigcountry is right about the smell. It was a yucky kind of medicine smell. I went back to Scent Schield after one try. I killed a deer with my TC Black Diamond and had some of the home made scent in the truck and it came in very handy to wash my hands clean of blood and innards though.
