I am positive I could take one at 45 yards but I don't like to lose deer so I kinda don't want to take the chance. I would say 30-35 and 40 ifit was last day or week of season and he was huge.... i know its wrong to only take that shot if he's big but I am gonna tell you the truth I would take it.

if you feel you can shoot the shot and make it, take it
no one else can tell you what is and isn't an ethical shot. There are no laws stating what is and isn't ethical shooting. Only YOU can make it or not
Fred Bear took amazing shots. Howard Hill did. There are many modern compound shooters taking 75-100 yard shots.
Its not for any of us to question them really.
