50/60 is your best bet...you don't want to over-bow yourself....I DON"T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS....45lbs is plenty. Indiana also has a 35 lb. minimum.

I love it! You young guys are discussing bowing up and us old(er) guys are bowing down. I just went from a 60/70 Ultratec that was set at 67lbs, and now shoot a 50/60 Trykon set at 62lbs (cranked all the way up). The Ultratec (built-in overdraw w/shorter arrows) shot 264 fps, while the Trykon shoots 271 fps. Remember my old arrows were 1.75" shorter. So, like bigbulls said, new bows are much faster. As sure as I am that I'll be turning my Trykon down in the next few years, you will be able to pull a 70. Just make sure you can shoot sitting in a treestand or a blind.
I wish you many, many years of good hunting!

A 60 pound bow you can shoot accurately and handle easily in the woods is a lot more deadly than a 70 pound bow you struggle with and can't hardly shoot at all.25 ft lbs of KE stuck in the heart/lung area is a lot moreethical than 90 ft lbs stuck in the guts.

This ain't no chest thumping macho man exercise! Shoot the draw weight you can handle, make intelligent choices on arrow weight and broadhead type, make sure those broadheads are shaving sharp and hunt within your limits. You won't have any problems.
