RE: WHAT BOW!!!!!!

Here is my suggestion, read this link. http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1421735

Did this the research on the Tribute, Allegiance, Switchback and Trykon.

Each of these bows cost $699 at this particular shop.

With my discount I ended up in the $1000 range with top of the line accessories.

yes I have a trykon as well and with the parallel limbs it feels preety dead on the shot especially with heavy arrows. comparing it toa bow tech they feel about the same to me. I really don't understand how you can feel that much on the hoyts and not feel it on the bowtech cause in fact, Mathews Bowtec and hoyt all feel about the same to me when the shot breaks. With the price of these bows I would expect that and neither is any better or worse than the other.

I am a Mathews guy, soI would suggest looking at one of those...

But, I would suggest going to a shop that sells multiple brands. I would even go as far to say to to multiple shops that sell many different brands. Because when it comes down to it, you want something that feels good to you, not what feels good for Rob. We all know he isn't quite right in the head!;)

My list of what you should shoot should contain, but not limited to...Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Parker, Diamond, Martin, Archery Research, PSE and whatever else you can get your hands on. Don't limit what you shoot based upon a bunch of yahoo's opinions(me included, so don't start yelling at me;)).

RE: WHAT BOW!!!!!!

If you want a pretty good shooter in the 450 dollar range, check out the redhead XP 35 at bass pro shop. I have one of these also, comparing it to the trykon, the slam and a half cam is just a bit harsher than the zepher cam. both have a drop into the valley and both have some sponge in the back wall. The trykon has a provision for a draw stop to firm up the backwall but xp doesn't. I prefere the sponge in the backwall so I don't use the draw stop. As far as shooability the xp shoots as well as the trykon. Matter of fact I score better with the Xp than the trykon on spots. Both feel good onthe shot with the Xp being just a bit louder that the trykon.
all and all the redhead XP is a lot of bow for the money which is about half of the trykon.

RE: WHAT BOW!!!!!!

deerhunter 92 how much are you willing to spend? The Reflex line of bows are very quality for a more reasonable price. The new Trykon is a great shooting, quiet, and very smooth bow.
Trykon= about $700
Reflex= anywheres from $250-$650ish

Even though my bow is set up for 3D, I use it to hunt.. I've tried many different combinations this year. For me this is my perfect set up.. I love what I have put together.. It's fast, quiet, and have about a thousand wrapped in it. .

I agree with those who feel that you should buy whatever suits YOU best. By the way, does anyone know where I can pick up an overstocked bow or a used bow beside E-Bay, it seems that the people selling their bows there are darn proud of their bows...I've seen used bows which retail in the $600-$700 range selling for as much as $500-600. Not worth it in my opinion....

1-Dozen Gold Tip Pro Hunter arrows $90
Tru-FireX-Caliper Xtreme Release$50
6-Burt Coyote Lumenocks $50

Grand Total..........$1318

With this set-up I went a little "crazy" and decided to just go all out. You could EASILY get a quality set-up for MUCH less, it all depends on what you are using the bow for and what you want it to do. Shoot as many bows as you can get your hands on and pick what feels best, not what the guy at the pro-shop tells you or what the guys on the internet tell you because at the end of the day, they aren't the ones who will be shooting your bow, you are.
