I don't know where you get them but a freind of mine uses the steps that just the screw is left behind in the tree. The step itself unhooks and you take it them with you. Those seem like a good idea if you want to use lock ons.

I know what you mean. I had a stand that I borrowed from a good friend and put it on my private posted property with a cable lock. Someone cut through the cable lock withan axand stole his stand. So I bought him a new on and my self a new one. (both climbers) havent lost it in over 6 years now.

There are really some worthless people in this world. Someone kept taking the legs off of my ladder stand just to tick me off. Every time I would go to that stand I would have to try to put the legs back.
