Well I must say Rob you have a knack for keeping me in suspense here ,after reading your intro thread I was positive this time that you actually did like the Trykon better,at least I read it that way,and that you were going to settle for the Trykon. Then all of a sudden there's a real twist and your coming out of this thread, with the Ally .
Like your other thread you really had me thinking that you were bringing a Ally home and you decided on the Trykon .WOW it just goes to show I really need to read EVERY word before I come to conclussion's on your thread's .

mdbowhuntr, And I forgot to mention in the thread above....I'm selling my Hoyt Vortec and buying the Trykon as well....I didn't pick one over the other, I simply want the Allegiance first...As soon as the VorTec is gone, I'll own both.

Well, I take all of those nice things I said about you back!!

Nah, really, the Allegiance is a great bow and I know you will enjoy it.
You can send those accessories my way since you have a BowTech now, I am sure they will look beautiful on my Trykon.
Either way, great job on the report and glad you are getting your personal favorite!

Rob,
In case you didn't know, when you swap out a factory set binary cam bow shipped with the smooth mods to the fast mods the let-off and valley settings don't always follow along exactly in the change.
If you change from the smooth to the fast and the valley dissapears and it feels like it's less than 80% and wants to go chances are you need to make a small adjustment on the stop peg.
Very small moves to the high side of your top cam with the stop peg can get you right back to a comfy valley and let-off.
If you have an accurate scale you can figure your peak weight and holding weight and do the math to set your let-off.
When I mean a small move I mean small too........my Tribute losses valley and let-off when I swap mods but about a 1/16" move of the stop peg brings it right back.
That's the beauty of the design, you can fine tune your personal feel.
I know you're an experienced shooter and a short valley wouldn't be a factor but the adjustment is there if you need it.
Congrats on the bow, it will come in smoking at 28.5"/ 70# /350gr and fast mods.......I'd guess in the 3teens?
Call me anytime.
Oh and when you set it up to paper tune......nock dead level, and midpoint of the shaft split the berger holes evenly.
I justset-upmy 2nd 2006 model for paper tuning and they just keep tuning perfectly this way.........everything as level as you can get it to start.
I had beautiful bullet holes in about 6 shots with minor rest fine tuning for launcher height.

Well, I was
until I read you were getting both. Congrats. Its getting tough with so many good bows to choose from and the prices on them. I considered the Allegiance when I lost my bow a few months ago but couldn't quit the Pearson. Maybe I can find something of my wife's to sell and do a double like you.
Looks like the same accy's. Are you still putting those on the Trykon? Sounds like your going to be shooting an awful lot.

Congrats Rob, the Allegiance is one sweet machine. I really enjoyed mine, it was a very pleasent bow to shoot and boy o boy did it get those arrows SCREAMING, but I did get rid of it, sold it to a friends little brother who is just getting into archery and was having some huge problems with his bow (a hand-me-down High Country). I took a huge loss on the sale but it is worth it seeing this kids face when he shoots the bow. The only thing is that I might have created a monster as this kid is simply shooting great, especially for his first year shooting a bow. Last week in a paper league he shot a 278 [:-] I wish I could have done that when I first started shooting.
Did you happen to check out the 06 Old Glory. Thats my new baby, not as fast as the Allegiance but she is so stable that it is amazing.

mobowhuntr, thanks
Greg, yes, 60 lb, 29" inch model....IBO 305 and that's the chrono results from the smooth to the speed mods...they said about 15 days for the bow to come...I'll be sure to let you know the results of my 70 lb, 28.5 in draw chrono results...I shoot my Vortec at 68 lbs..I'll probably do the same with the Allegiance. It's already shooting faster than my Vortec with 8 less pounds...impressive. AND, expect questions...you might as well PM me your phone number, between you and Matt, expect some calls.
I know Hoyt inside and out, I need to learn Bowtech.
CM, I'm telling you, that's how hard it was to make a decision..they were laughing at me in the shop...I'd shoot a dozen through both...put them on the shelf and sit and ponder....they'd laugh at me....I'd shoot another dozen and sit and ponder and they'd laugh at me.....I didn't take it lightly...I wanted to make an informed decision...that's why and they said, just do yourself a favor and buy them both....that's what's gonna happen....there is no clear cut winner...they are awesome as is the Tribute and the Switchback but I had to make a difficult decision for me and me alone..the Allegiance and the Trykon.
ducsauce, in this shop both the Allegiance and the Trykon are $699...as is the Switchback.
gibblet, thanks, I've always been in the light. (Hoyt), got any advice?
SuperRedHawk, the Switchback is a great bow....if I went into the shop and shot the Switchback, I'd take it home, no doubt and I could have easily and in a way, wanted to. I wanted the Switchback to impress me so much, I wanted it to be my choice however when shooting all 4, for me and me alone, it didn't make the cut...great bow don't get me wrong and I'd be very happy with it and defend it whole heartily....for me, it wasn't it...for you and many others, it's the shhizznit..
Nubo, and I didn't mean to write it that way...I gave the review from what I experienced and how I felt...it's that hard for me personally between the two bows and I honestly will own both if my Vortec sells...I'll love the Allegiance that's for sure as will I love the Tyrkon if I chose that one first...I don't see it as settling for the Trykon...I'll lose sleep over my decision again...good thing my gal and I went out tonight and had a couple over a comedian show...might help me sleep with my decision...either way, the Allegiance, Switchback, Tribute or Trykon...you can't go wrong for me, the Allegiance will go through some major testings the next several months and I will be the first to report if I made a mistake. Honestly, I don't see that happening. I look forward to the "set up" report on my decision.
Rick, so close and yes, it's MO not MD....thanks ole friend.
Bols, don't loose faith as of yet..I still own the Hoyt Vortec...a love of mine. It's been alot of years since a bow impressed me more than the '01 Vortec....The Trykon is the first Hoyt in some years that's done that...and I'd be proud to own one, for now, I have to go with my gut and demo's on the those 4 and bring home the Allegiance. If you know someone that wants a fantastic bow at a great price, I'll do you proud and bring home the Trykon too....and I will but what the hell will I do when I get up to hunt and need to make an early morning decision on which to take hunting.
For now, I'm putting the new accessories on the Allegiance including the Fuse Axium and Katana on the Bowtech...they'd match the Trykon better but great accessories...and when I bring home the Trykon I'll transfer my Bodoodle Pro Lite over to the Trykon along with the Super Stix....
Matt, blah, huh?, what? move where?...remember I'm a Hoytian, expect phone calls.

aeroslinger, same accessories but are going on the Bowtech....will transfer some of my former Vortec accessories to the Trykon and if I don't like the fall away, the Bodoodle Pro Lite will go on the Allegiance and yes, I'll be shooting tons but I already do.
Buck Magnet, great job with the kid, and no, to be honest I didn't pick up the Old Glory, it wasn't one I was considering and today Nate said, alot of guys are picking up this one for target and handed me the Ol Glory, sweet but I was looking for a little more...eeemmmph.
Ausie, absolutely beautiful but I'm letting it come in the MO....such little camo and since it's not ASAT....didn't really matter..
Picture the Allegiance in ASAT...now we're talking. Can't wait to post pics.

advice? huh, i'm ruined. i got kind of down on the whole bt thing, was sure i was going another way with my new 3d bow. then i went and shot other bows and remembered why i shoot a bowtech. they've ruined me. probably being used to something as much as anything.
i kind of scathed the trykon, just felt terrible to me. got my hands on a trykon xl. wondering if you shot that? the whole draw cycle and sudden rollover thing i hated about the trykon was completely gone. that bow felt real good.
