yep. that will do it. I usually go about 25 feet up but 18 is plenty.

The structure of the terrain and background cover usually dictates my climbers height. It usually falls somewhere between 16-24 feet..

I stick with 15-18 feet. I guess higher is better concealment but I have a friend who fell from 23' last year. He landed flat on his back on top of a turtle (wonder what the turtle was thinking...).He was lucky and onlybroke a few ribs and his arm. I'll stay lower while I'm still killing deer.

i thought that i was hunting at around 15' but when i got a climbing stick that was 17' i got in the stand and felt too low. i now use a rope thats 22' i go up until it gets tight or close to it. if im in the open i attach my pack to the bottom of the stand so that the stand is at about 24' when the rope is tight.

it all should depend on background cover and where you are comfortable. ive killed deer from 8ft of the ground a few times but that spot has really thick cover and im backgrounded by two pines in my tree. really just find your comfort zone and what hides you best. remeber the higher you go the tougher close shots get.

Dont use a climber....to much commotion.
I usually shoot for 15-20ft in my lock ons.
Or 0 if I am in a blind...

Thats fine i go up around 20 but it depends on the terrain and time of year.there are places you don't have to very high at all but i don't think you need to go any higher than 30 in most places after that it gets to scary
