Default How old are these bucks?

These are two bucks that i got on my trail cam back in September. I never really cared how old they were or what they scored because I alreadyconsider them trophies. but recently i got to wondering how old they were and what they scored so i figured i would ask you guys. These bucks are from an area where there is no agriculture, no food plots, just plain old acorns and whatever else they can find in the woods. The first buck is a small 8 point. It looks like a 1 1/2 year old but all of the other 1 1/2 year old bucks in my area are spikes and 4 points, so i thought it was odd that this one was an 8 point. the second is a 7 point and looks like an older one to me, maybe 2 1/2. where i hunt this is considered old because it is a very heavily hunted area. thanks for any input

The first one is a 1 1/2 and the second one is a 2 1/2. The 2 1/2 is about where he should be for your area, the 1 1/2 is how they all should be, but that just isn't the case. I believe that when the buck/doe ratio starts getting out of wack and you have a bunch of late born fawns come into heat later in the season, after the most mature bucks have shed their antlers, inferior bucks breed those fawns and they start producing small racked bucks like spikes and forks.
