If it is a wolf it will be the first I heard of one around here( S. Jersey).
I heard rumor years ago that the state nitwits crossed a wolf with a coyote(why is beyond me).These pics were taken within 30 yards from my front door.
Very exciteing

I agree with the others---looks to be a wolf to me as well.
Quite possible that it is a cross between a coyote and a wild dog as well.
I believe its to big for a coyote,to thick in the body and head.

I saw a solid black coyote about 20 years ago. It was jet black and didnt have a white hair on its body. He was trying to get a gobbler that had flown down about 50 yards from me. It was the only one I've ever seen.
