What are some of the interesting things you have seen while waiting for deer? Just the other evening I was entertained by a red-tail hawk chasing a small rabbit around and thru a brush pile for 5 or 6 miutes before he gave up,all within 10 ft of the base of my tree.10 minutes before that he took a swipe at my head(good thing I saw him coming)

A guy does see many interesting things from the tree stand. For the first time this year I had a badger go by me while I was in the tree. Wouldn't you know it, I didn't have my video camera along that morning.

Last Season a porcupine decided my tree looked good. I tried shooing him away and even dropped a pinecone on his head but he kept coming..I had no choice but to shish-kebob him. Boy are they a pain in the butt to clean

I love the show while I'm sitting in my stand, two weeks ago as I was sitting a big owl came in from my left and glided just to the edge of the tree that I was perched in and then it landed in a dead tree 15 ft from me and was looking away from me and for about 5 minutes I was playin with it as I was makeing some noises and the owl would look and then blink one eye and then the other and I had so much fun and had to keep from laughing so hard, I just don't understand why I didn't see any deer.

Several times while rifle hunting, I've been sitting in a box blind and had birds fly inside the stand, which would scare the #@$%&*# out of both of us. I even had a large owl land in the window that I was looking out of, he landed approx. 1 ft. in front of my face. I then packed my stuff up and climbed down and decided that the birds just wanted that stand more than I did and they could have it.

Several years ago I watched a fox stalk a grouse he got just under my stand and hid as the grouse was coming up a path, when the grouse got even with him he pounced on it and I thought dead grouse well he tood his wings and beat the fox and pecked him in the face until the fox turned loose and he flew off then the fox kind of hung his head down and went out into the field I was watching to a apple tree and started to eat apples and you could tell he was not a happy camper. I am glad I had on a safty belt or I would have fallen out of the tree laughing.

Well I have seen the standard wildlife on stand, but the funniest(I don't think she would have thought so if she had known)thing I ever saw was this lady hunter was walking out at about 9:30 or 10:00 and seeing she was going to pass within 20-30 feet of my stand I was just getting ready to give her a little wave to let her know I was there, well she stopped, leaned her gun against a tree, looked around, turned her back to me and dropped her drawers to take a whizz!!! I decided the better part of valor was just to be real quiet and stay still(she had no TP! LOL). Well she finished, dressed, picked up her gun and left, never knowing I was there!

Just got back from elk hunt on Apache land. Buddy saw a mountain lion and black bear at his ground blind. I saw my first American wolf! Two wolves walked near me just at first light. Indians have a pack now and most have collars. Really cool to be so close and not be dinner.
