Default bow..

my dad was given a bow and he doesnt want to get back into archery but i do..the bow needs new string..can use a new stabilizer(only because paint came off and it is rusting and looking crappy) new sights only because the pins are just pins i want fiber optics...a quiver..and a new rest just because the one thats on it is just like a single rod...like a paper clip almost to hold the arrow i want one with the 2 rods to balance the arrow in between it..anways...the bow is a bear its called the bear bruin...is that a good bow? its a little older maybe really old but i figured i can use it...is it a junk bow or is it good enough for me? thanx

Usually a bow is bought to fit the individual hunter. I would just take it to a good bow shop in your area and have it checked out. Have them see if it is mechanically sound and to see if it fits or can be fit to your draw length. This would be a good place to start.

i will have it at a shop this spring to get the strings ect...it seems mechanically fine now...and i drew it back and i grew since last time and now the draw legnth is about 1/2 inch to long...and it goes shorter so i will be ok there maybe by spring it will fit me perfect...i cant wait i hope everything goes as planned! so does anybody know anything about this particular bow? will most parts(ones i need above) fit right where the old ones are or are they made for specific bows? thanx..

be careful with it. if its a compound and comes unhitched you may have trouble.
