Gearing up for 06?
#11
Just bought a cold weather face mask and hand muffler for the last time or 2 I may get out this season, but that's not much. I also just bought a couple pair of camo mesh gloves on clearance, because you can never have enough of them between turkey hunting and early bow season. Other than that, I'm all set. Oh wait... I did get a gatco professional knife sharpener, hoping to put an edge on my muzzy's so I don't have to buy any more any time soon, and one last bug to make things really complete.... I've been scoping out some Nikon Monarch ATBs.... That should really do it for me. Well, maybe some ASAT..... and and and.... I'll let you know when I break the bank by next season.

I just ordered a couple sets of climbing sticks. I also would like to get a Leaf River infared camera, gold tip arrows, some predator camo from gray wolf, and new safety harness, and some Lacrosse rubber boots.

I've got an '06 Allegiance and an '06 Tribute on their way -- both in Realtree Hardwoods HD!
Already got a six-inch Stealth stabilizer dipped in Realtree Hardwoods HD waiting, and ordered a Spot-Hogg Hunter Hoggit as well as an APA Twister Safari rest today.

API Twister Safari rest today.
Last year I was offered a shooters position of APA, I declined telling them I was comfortable with my current bow. They then went on to offer me a different position to shoot just their rests.
After a couple days I decided to give them another try as I had a couple problems with a past APA twister (before the safari and the SL came out) that I had.
I got the rest sighted it in over a couple days and took it to my Ohio IBO State Championship. The rest broke on the 3rd target. The shoot was a 4 hour an 15 minute drive each way, not to mention it was the state championship...... Onto the problem.....
The peg that stops and holds the launcher basket square to your knock point broke off the rest. It couldn't of had more then 100 shots through the rest.
I had to rig my rest with an allan wrench through the hole to finish the shoot. I emailed APA about my problem and my rep never returned any of my emails.
I still have the broken rest around here somewhere...... It still irritates me to this day. I can say I will never use another APA product as both rests I had malfunctioned.
Please keep an eye on that little peg as I would hate to see you or anyone else have any problems.
Again I am not bashing APA, I am just relating an experience I had with them. It very well could have been an isolated incidents, that I cannot say for sure one way or the other.

Thanks buckeye! I'll definitely keep an eye on it... And thanks for the post; that's exactly the kind of stuff that makes HNI invaluable -- no bashing, just straight-forward facts from one archer meant to help another archer.
I know Matt / Pa has used this particular rest for a while now with no problems; it's actually on his recommendation that I'm ordering one.

To add.......
I love the concept of the Twister. To look at it, itseems to be the ultimate drop away for hunting purposes.
I wish they had never broke on me.
I don't know maybe I am full of hot air and will try one again this fall???????
Who knows
*EDIT* I will also say it is the most silent drop away I have ever owned hands down.

Well I just got the Constitution and a new coyote rifle(Savage 10fp law enforcement .223), so no more toys for a while.
I do plan on buying a ground blind to hunt out of this year, a canoe, and may buy a few more lock on treestands too.
