Todd-I think you should sell your bow and move to Hollywood and write for Jay Leno....I know it's hard to laugh at a time like this but your description of this hunt was funny!!!! We've all been there...you stand up to stretch and you hear a loud snort and all you see is Horns going over the hill...or you lower your bow to the ground and turn to get your coat and you see horns looking at you..It happens but at the time it's not funny !!!...Keep us posted...sound's like your in a good area and I've got a feeling this is not the end to this story!!!!!!! Bad day? What do you mean? Sounds like a great day to me. Ya learned somthing, saw some deer, and it rained. Getting a shot would just be iceing on the cake.lol

Last year in my ground blind, just about 6pm I have does moving all around me. I see two Very nice bucks coming in. I watch as they get closer. At about 16-17 yards the larger of the two goes behind a bush and I start to draw. I had been watching the does in front of me.... I did not notice the doe that had come up behind me and was standing about 5 yards to my right. Stomp, snort..I take my eyes off the buck for a fraction of a sec. and that was all she wrote. Poof they were gone.

thats a good one but, maybe you should move your tree stand closer and pick a differant route to it. i had something like that happen 10 years ago, moved my stand and saw alot more deer .got one too! GOOD LUCK!

I would've done the same thing, Todd. I can't stand sitting in the rain getting soaked; I've never seen a thing.

But... I'll remember this post the next time it starts raining. Maybe you'll help me to stay put a little longer. Or catch a cold.

Thats happened to me many times in the past 45 years. I would be back there today
