Default Hoyt Intruder

I am a bow hunter but only have experience with Crossbows. My sisters boyfriend is eyeing up a Hoyt Intruder. It has been hardly used but comes with a crappy rest but good sights and that's it. Does anyone know what this bow is worth? The guy says "make an offer" so what should he offer? Is it a good bow? American money is ok I'll just keep that in mind. He is new to the sport and I don't really know much about them.

Thanks for any help!

Intruder was what Hoyt called their low end, all-glass limbs and they outfitted several lower end bows with them. Like a bow I had, it was a Raider model with Intruder limbs. I also had a MagnaTec with Intruder limbs. Both of those, I think, sold around $250 US brand new. Even though the Intruder limbs were low end for Hoyt, they were very good quality and gave great performance. Other manufacturers used equivalent limbs on their top of the line bows.

If it's in perfect shape, I think half of retail is a fair price. If it has to have new string and cables, nock offabout $50 US.

I am also from Ontario and can give you a local perpective. A 3 year old high end quality hunting compound can be purchased used for around $400.00 CDN funds. Lots around sitting in bowshops. There are many website where you can get great deals for used bows. Not sure how much that old Hoyt is going for but I probably wouldn't pay much more than $125.00 for it and thgen maybe not even that much. My buddy bought a used Bowtech Patriot last week on ebay complete with quiver, stabilizer and rest and paid $330.00 USD. That package would have retailed for over $1200.00 CDN when purchased new. If you live near Toronto then check out the Wolfs Den and if near Waterloo the Bow Shop in St Jacobs is an excellent shop.
