Thats definitaly the arrow! They say carbon shooters should check for splinters in thier arrows.May be what it was

yea I thought it to be the arrow also but figured it could`nt hurt to ask, thanks for all your replys.and thanks for not making me feel like anny biger of a horses rear than I already do..I`m sorry i`ve been a member all this time and it took me till now to post....and yes I did all the tests that they tell you to do..I guess I`ll bew a little more cautious in the future. thanks again, John

I couldnt amagine how scary that was. but I think the common consinsous is right you had a faulty arrow.

it`s almost healed and I should be backattempting to shoot in a few weeks. I`m hoping to go to the harrisburg sportsman show in feb and talk to the tecs from beman ..John

What were you/the proshop using to clean the shafts, prior to fletching them???

good question? the arrows came fletched when I picked them up........I`ll have to inquire.

Ive seen the same thing with the same arrow , except in 400 spine . And most of the animals Ive seen shot [10 or so] with them have broken . I wont use them . To be fare my arrow broke on an animal this year , and I was shooting accs at the time .

Well I had to have my bow checked out wednesday to make sure when the arrow broke it did`nt create a dry fire. All was well and now I`m just waiting to hear back from beman...as soon as I hear something I will post......John

I just installed the same rest on my bow this fall and like it alot except for some noise on the draw back. I agree with most people that it was the arrow and not the rest.
But Rockin Chair I'd like to ask you one question which will help me with something that I've been pondering. What bow were you using? Oneof those newer verisions that obtain the higher end arrow velocities?
The reason I ask this is, I have an Oregon, round wheel compound, I purchased around 1989 that is in great shape and shoots just fine. I've been toying with getting a new bow, a high end preformer. (The Oregon was when I bought it) I think having seen those photos of your hand, I'd definitely stay with the slower bow. I believe it was the arrow that malfunctioned but a pooror faulty arrow would have to come apart quicker the more force/speed you drive it with. Just my opinion.
