My Suspicions have been confirmed...BIG BUCK!!!!!!
Well,
I thought for sure there had to be a big deer in the area I have been hunting as I have seen tracks the size of the palm of my hand. Probably about like a softball. Not as wide but just as long. I have also seen a smaller 8 point a couple times but I didn't get a crack at him but I'm glad I haven't yet. My step uncle just went out for a walk in the field at his house the other day and he jumped 2 monster bucks bedded on the edge of the field. The one is a bruiser of a 10 and the other is a big 8. Bigger than the 8 I have seen. My question is, why haven't I seen signs of these 2 guys yet. Would the deer not start to make rubs and scrapes yet in Wisconsin? I have found plenty of trails that look like freeways and many places where several trails come together into one, but why haven't I had a clue about these guys. I think I'm gonna find a few spots near where they were bedded and set a couple stands there. When should I start rattling and using some scent?
Good Hunting

Hmm the bucks should have began rubbing by now, im 100% sure of that one. Now about the rattling/scents you best leave it too a grunt tube once or twice everyhalf hour this early in the season, im in Michigan so our rut time is about the same, bucks respond to rattling/scents much better in early nov too late nov. I wouldn't yet be pasting doe estrous and knockin deer antlers tongether. But when the rut kicks in you shuold be able to pattern your bucks more efficiantly! Maybe even thwack one! Good luck this year goalieman!
