I had been asking myself that same question recently, being that I'm relatively new to the boards myself. Cardeer is esentially the "Yoda" of bowhunting and this forum. He's an incredibly wise, seasoned, successful bowhunter. When Cardeer speaks....people listen. I understand he makes these necklaces, on a very limited basis, that assists the wearer with becoming one with nature and his pray (and brings great luck and success with the hunt). People say that they really work! From what I've read, he is not feeling 100% these days and is being seen and heard from less often. This should give you a general idea of what "Cardeer Necklaces" are all about even if I didn't get the facts totally correct.
P.S.- Cardeer: Hope youand your wife are feeling better.

currently CD is healing up a couple of broken ribs. But I bet he still makes it to the board.
If so, I was wondering if I sent ya my lucky hunting hat CD, can you put the lucky VooDoo on it like your necklaces? I think the luck has ran out of the hat this year.

The necklace is a "Harvest Necklace" It is made out of antler and a leather strip. The antler has some symbols that no one but cardeer knows what they represent. Cardeer is part Indian and a Sharman, the necklaces go through a blessing/ceremony that is only done once a year. I do not know how to describe it, but it does allow you to be part of the deer if it is close enough.

Last year Cardeer blessed me with one of his necklaces. I can still see my wife's face when she saw me open the package. She said "what the hell is that?" I simply smiled and said "meat in the freezer honey...meat in the freezer."
As NJ-Bowhunter said cardeer is the "Yoda of bowhunting and this forum." I couldn't have said it better myself. Two years ago I found this forum while browsing on the Internet. I can still remember the first person to reply to my first bowhunting question on this forum - it was Cardeer. We are truly blessed to have him be a part of this forum and to learn from his hunting experiences.
Now let me tell you about what happened the very first time I wore the Cardeer necklace. This past Monday, which also was the first time I went hunting this year, I nailed a basket six pointer. I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to post the picture, but when I do you'll see a big old smile around my face and the cardeer necklace around my neck.
Wishing you and Nancy well CD.
