First off, let me say "thank you" for the replies. I know it is a hectic time of year and many of us don't get to the board as often as we normally do. I guess I was just more than a little excited after shooting the Tribute. Droptines- I hear you brother. My wife and I just finished setting up our 11 and 13 year old boys with new bows. I cannot wait to be there when they each take their first deer. The three of us have already comitted to shooting a 3-D league together this spring. It is such a great feeling to have your children taking part in the thing you love most. BTW if the rain will let up here the three of us will be heading outside to shoot their new .22's thatthey opened this morning.:D

Matt/Pa, First let me say that I always enjoy reading your posts, they are always helpful and informative. The picture you posted though.............that's just not fair! As I was sitting in my tree yesterday morning I found myself looking at my LX hanging on my e-z hanger............wishing it was a TRIBUTE!:( Arghhhh! All your photo did was make me want to change bows before the end of season, which I promised myself, and my wife, that I would not do. Thanks alot!;)

I'm also considering a Bowtech tribute. If i go ahead and upgrade, it will be a huge leap in equipment for me. I was considering the Switchback, but after handling a Tribute......I'm pretty pumped about it. Right now I'm shooting a PSE Beast 4x4. I like the bow, but I kept hearing about these Bowtechs. Finally, the shop I buy most of my stuff from, became a BT dealer. They have had the new Tributes for about 2 weeks and have sold 3 already. Considering it's in a small town of about 400 people, that's selling them like hotcakes!

The Tribute is an amazing bow for sure....I have a '05 Allegiance and the Hush Kit holds up pretty well I think....I just now had to replace the string silencers with string leeches and the limb silencers are still in perfect condition...I have shot the Tribute several X's since the shop here first got them and I will be ordering mine this week...I'm like you I was a diehard Hoyt shooter until last year when I picked up a Bowtech for the first time....I feel like changing brands now would be taking a step backwards....Good Luck....Oh yeah ?? I shot the Tribute here at the shop and it was 29'' DL #70 and I had a 350gr. arrow and I was getting 310fps...Which is fast enough and I hadn't thought much about it until I saw that you posted the same speed with a 410gr. arrow and a loop on the string which I did not have...Just Curious??? I'm going to check again tommorrow...The one I shot also had the speed cam installed also...

I got a diamond victory for christmas. Have already shot it about 200 times and everyting is holding up great! Could not be happier.
I put A trophy ridge drop away rest on it. It only took 3 shot trough paper and it was tuned. As for the hush kit, I think it works great,agree with everyone else. Don't spend money on gear that is not needed. Took it to the bow shop yesterday. It shot a 400 grain arrow 250 fps @ 60# draw, and is super quit. Its a far cry from the hoyt deviator i was shooting. Congrats on deciding to buy the Tribute. I would have bought one also but I just got my Defender in June so my wife would kill me if I bought the Tribute. I never should have shot one because it just made me dream of different ways that I could get one. :) I am going to wait for the 07 models to come out to see if they have any new goodies for that year.

The hush kit on my 05 Defender only lasted a couple of hundred shots. One of the string silencers was done in about forty shots. The other lasted to about two hundred. The two sliencers on the cable are OK. One is just started to show a crack on one of the fingers. I don't know why mine broke so fast. Others have had theirs last longer. I now have leaches but they also break. The Tribute was so quiet, you may not need them anyway. I would shoot it until they fall off and then see if you notice if the bow is louder.

For a quiver, look at the new Bohning Panther. The shaft is flexible and is supposed to help dampen noise. They make it in a four or six arrow design. You can purchase an additional mounting base for it and then get the Kwikee tree screw and hang your quiver on the tree when in the stand.

For rests, I use the QAD Ultra. It drops fast enough for the Bowtechs. I like the total containment feature and their Customer Service is very good. I have never tried the ZE but many people love them. I have heard a few people complain that they are very hard to adjust on the new Bowtechs due to the speed and the shortened cable movement on the rod. I would imagine the Tribute would also be hard to adjust with it's beyond parallell limb design. I am sure that if you wanted the ZE, there would be a way to make it work. It may also be quieter since the prongs do not hit the shelf or any internal stops.

You didn't say it but for sights, I would recommend one of the HHAs. They are probably the sturdiest sights I have seen and very bright.

No ribbing here. I have shot Browning, Hoyt, Bear, Buckmasters and now Bowtech. I will say that I think Bowtech makes the nicest bows for me now but who knows what the future will hold! ;)

G2 Shooter, Sounds like one more resounding vote for the Bowtech.:DAs far as sights go, I was thinking about a Spot Hogg, but I will look at the HHA's as well. I looked over the Fuse quick detach quiver carefully today. It appears to be well built, and I love the mount that goes on the bow. I also looked at the Fuse stabilizers and was impressed as well. All in all they appear to have a pretty good line of accessories going. For the first time in my life I am finding myself anxious for the end of bow season.;)

Congrats on the decision to buy the Tribute. It is a fantastic shooting bow as you have already discovered. I'll have to post a pic of my bow now fully decked out when I get a chance.Added my 6" Stealth stabilizer to the bow and a SIMS cable dampener and camo'd both with the Advantage Max4 tape and they look terrific. Love this bow.

As for the factory installed Hush Kit.......it works well no doubt. In fact it has been proven through decible meter tests a little while back that the Bowtech string silencers are within something like a 1/10th of a decible of the SIMS string Leeches. (This was done in a test of the Bowtech Liberty Vs. the Champion Diablo by an independent test source)
No rubber string silencer is going to last forever that's for sure. In order to exhibit the necessary vibration reduction the material must be pliable and relatively fragile. They will wear out..........SIMS Leeches WILL wear out. They ALL wear out with maybe the exception of served in Cat Whiskers or the like. The speed at which they wear out has to do with a few things relating to the individual bow they are on........power stroke, draw weight, and arrow weight all translate into how much energy is transmitted through the bow string itself.
Another very overlooked component to string silencer wear is PLACEMENT onthe string. These little buggers stretch like crazy at the moment the string returns to brace at the shot and if you look at their placement you will quickly realize what will happen to them as they surge forward a few inches into the relm of your cables.
The little arms will stretch beyond the cables and snag on the way back. This is why you will hear sometimes of someone losing arms on their silencers in only a few shots.
Sliding them down beyond the path of your cables will reduce the wear , will make the string even quieter and will only rob a slight amount of speed. (The more weight in the center of your string the more speed will be affected)

I typically use SIMS Limbsaver Ultras AND the installed Bowtech Hush Kit limb silencers on all of my Hunting bows. I like the added quiet the 2 combined provide , although the Bowtech version does work pretty well. The trick is to get them up near the limb forks in the normal spot that you would place Limbsavers.
If you add Limbsavers you have the option of moving the Bowtech ones around the limb surface to personally tune feel and noise to your liking.

The Tribute is an extremely quiet bow to begin with but it certainly doesn't hurt to add a few things to make it as whisper quiet as possible.

For a drop away rest I have settled on the APA "Twister" Safari as my rest of choice. It's dead quiet, a breeze to tune, full containment and very accurate. It also by design provides a very neat simple hook up to the slide tab since the drop cord comes off the top of the rest. It tucks neatly along the cable rod straight back to the slide.

If you are considering a Muzzy Zero Effect hold off a few weeks. Muzzy is coming out with a new version that is designed around these extreme parallel limbed bows. The Binary cam bows do provide a little more slide travel than a single cam bow of the same geometry but the reduced limb tip travel doesn't lend itself to an easy tuning experience with the ZE as is.
Supposedly the new version will eliminate the tuning and set-up problems associated with this style of bow.

For a stabilizer?.......I would look no further than the one that I mentioned above. Stealth Archery. The FUSE looks pretty cool but IMO nothing matches the vibration and noise reduction of a Stealth stabilizer. They are even offered in Mossy Oak Obsession that was dipped at Bowtech's "Waterdog" dipping facility so you know that they are an exact match for your bow's camo. A 6" seems to be a great fit for this bow in function and balance.
A Bowtech MO Obsession quick diconnect quiver would round out an extremely well done and "fashion concious";)set-up.
I'm a confirmed bow mounted quiver HATER and enjoyed using my Bowtech quick detach model very much this year. (It still comes off the second I hit the treestand, but its fit and function were flawless)
