Would you say your season has been a success? And tell us why?
Or would you say the 2005 season was lets say "Not so hot" Let`s here the story?

And what will you change for the2006 season if anything?

Success! I saw more deer this year than any year past. Plus I hunted much smarter...not to mention more.

I also saw more bucks than ever before.

For next year, I think I know some new places to put stands, plant crops, and scout.

Too short!!! I put meat in the freezer by shooting two doe early in the season , and then my season came to an end by way of a rotator cuff tear.

Well shot 3 doe ( 1 went almost 175 lbs) turned down alot of young buck. Hunted several in the 125"-150" just didnt have the right shot doe to angle, LIGHT, or other circumstances. Going to hunt new years eve the last day of our season and that is it. Not a total bust but yes I wanted to shot a nice mature buck deer.

I would say a successful year just because I got to hunt. As far as getting a deer or seeing a deer this was probably the worst year I have had since I was 12. I saw fewer deer and the nice bucks that were seen before Oct. 1st dissappeared for the entire season. No one around us shot a nice deer with gun or bow!!!! I have one more week to go and hope to tag a nice buck but a doe will be going in the freezer next chance!!!!

I'm gonna have to swing both ways on this one. It was most certainly a success from several standpoints. I learn more about deer behaviour all the time. This year, better than any other, I put myself in a position to see deer. I am on deer fairly consistently and have learned to hunt funnels to pinch them down. I have gained access to a couple of awesome places and secured them already for next year. I call that a success, and I haven't killed a deer with an arrow this year, though I did miss one.....[&:]

It has also been very disapointing. The ground behind my parents house that I have been hunting on for nearly 20 years I am now having to share with a young lad. Last season this ground was amazing, I saw more deer there than I ever have. This year......not the same story. This youngster rides his ATV right through the bedding area to gain close access to his stand that is in the worst possible position, and today I find a bait pile. From this standpoint......this year has stunk. Yeah, I know....he needs to learn to, and I made MANY, and still make plenty of mistakes. But it is awefully frustrating for me.

I hunted more than ever, only took one doe, but still a great year. Saw tons of deer and a coolassortment of wildlife. I rattled in several young bucks for the first time, but let them pass. I have my favorite stands down to a science! Not one deer "busted" me in my stand. This is the first year that we took all does, so I have great expectations in '06. So, already a success, and I may go next weekend too for a New Years buck. It ain't over!

People who DON'T do this are the crazy ones!
