I hope you didn't pay for the processed meat yet. The least they could do for you if they did indeedjust honestlylosethe rackis to not charge you for the processing. Your story will hang in my mind if and when I ever get a bow wall hanger.

If and when you get a wall hanger don't let them leave your sight. Take pictures and get your taxidermist to give you a reciept.

That happened to me several years ago while hunting out of state in Iowa. It was only a 6pnt but after driving nearly 1100 miles i was pretty mad. Only the butcher made one mistake, he handed me the boxes of meat before i paid them. I asked him where the rack was. Even though i specifically asked them to save the rack he told me they had thrown it away. So i took my meat and walked out and stiffed him for the bill.

That sux. Sorry to hear about your antlers man! might look a little closer into this, many people today will do anything for a good rack.

Thats a real bummer.[:@] People just don't lose antlers. They took them or know something about their whereabouts. I would go back and demand them back. I am curious of your age. I know some people try to take advantage of younger people. I couldn't tell your age in your avatar:eek:. Good luck on getting your antlers back.

Yeah, sounds fishy to me also. They know how in demand antlers are and what they mean to whitetail hunters. Go get them.

Is turning your deer in to the processor with antlers attached common practice there? No one I know would ever leave their antlers on and expect to see them again. Heck, the handling of the carcass prior to butchering could damage the antlers. It should be caped out before dropping it off or sawed off by the processor in your presence. I doubt many processors would even take a deerthat had antlers they had to be responsible for. I can't lay all the blame on thebutcher for this one.

The butcher I go to people leave their racks on all the time, if you are going to have it mounted they cape it out for you and you pick it up when you pick up your meat, if you are not going to mount it they normally cut it off before you leave. I have seen some real monsters hanging in the cooler.
I definitly lay the blame on the butcher, they are in the business of customer service so it is their responsibility to take the best posible care of your product.
