that really is a bunch of BS.. who looses a 11 point rack anyway?? They are giving you the run around and I would be kicking their doors in looking for that rack... bring the police and have them arrested for petty larceny..

I'm just kiddin' with ya', but I've gotten used to hearing people call them horns...and around here it's almost a slang term used by hunters to talk about REALLY big racks (on deer)

That sucks for sure.[:@] Sorry to hear of a loss like this. I agree with the majority on this one that they were either stolen or sold. I would not let it go until I at least notified the local authorities and/or the DNR. My friend took a 37inch stealhead (yes 37inch)to a local taxidermist and specifically told him to save the eggs. I was there. One week latermy friend went to pick up theeggs and was told hethrew the eggs out because they were no good. WE SAW THE EGGS!!!The taxidermisthad plenty of spawn sacs that next week.:eek:hmmmm.
I butcher my own meat and only let a reputable taxidermist touch my antlers. Good luck with getting your 11-point back.

Sorry, but what do you do with the eggs?? I've only ever fished for bass and walleye, and never heard of doing anything with eggs...thanks.

Spawn sacks are excellent bait , especially late in the season.

For salmon fishing that is. I've also caught alot of rainbows and browns on spawn sacks.

i dont see what satisfaction you would get from stealing someone elses antlers...everytime you see them, you know you didnt shoot it...thats real selfish of that a-hole

That is one reason we cut up our own deer. We have the head gear and our own meat,to make sausage or whatever we want. I would hound them till they puke!

Here's another thought.Maybe he dropped them off,and then took a really long time to come back.So they thought he wasn't coming back,and did something with them....Sort of like how he started this thread4 days ago,and never has come back to check on it.[8D]
