RE: Can't eat antlers
Believe it or not, I know a guy just like that. He does not like the taste of a big buck. Especially during the rut. I have hunted with him for 15 years and only know of two little bucks he has taken. He only takes little ones and only if he sees no does. |
RE: Can't eat antlers
ORIGINAL: RyanPDaDeerSlayer I think my neighbor across the street is crazy. He says he passes up tons of nice bucks each year. Everyday he has a story about how he passed up a 8pt or a 9pt. He said one time he stopped counting a bucks points at 38 but said it had no mass at all so he didn't shoot it!!!!! Do you think he is crazy or is it just me. |
RE: Can't eat antlers
You see, there is a perfectly logical explanation for seeing, and passing up, a 32+ point deer. Early one morning, your neighbor becomes tired and falls asleep next to a tree. But you see, he's a heavy sleeper and it takes a lot to wake him up. Unknown to him, a buck starts wandering in the area, but your neighbor has just bought new 3D camo and is blending perfectly in with the base of the tree. The buck, who actually only has about 16 points, walks over and eats acorns by your neighbor, and it puts his nose up to smell the tree to make a rub, which is right in your neighbors face. Feeling a slight tickle on the nose, he wakes up, and the buck is so close he goes cross-eyed looking at him and the deer runs off. Going cross-eyed gives your neighbor the impression he in fact say a 32 point deer. Actually, I was just really bored so I wrote this. I'll bet he's lying.
