I've killed bucks and I would take a big doe over a big antlered buck any time any year. However who am I kidding I take what I can get! Including the little tiny button buck that I got on Saturday. HeHe. Tasty little critter!

You also can't mount the meat.

How are us big time QDM guys supposed to grow B&C bucks if we shoot 130-140" deer? I've let 2 135" deer walk this year....unfortunately one was later shot. Different strokes for different folks.

....and yes I've shot 2 does this year.

You can mount the meat when I'm done with it. Just let me know where you want me to put it!

Although I think your neighbor is feeding you a bit of a line.... but there is merit to the way of thinking. Many guys pass up lots of deer, ones those most people would still shoot. It's a matter of preference. They don't need/want to shoot the first scrub by them.

I would have believed your neighbor right up until the 38ptr story. lol I think that at 38 pts, it would be VERY unique iven if it had little mass. I only shoot a buck that is suitable for wall hanging. The smaller ones I choose to let walk, HOPING that I'll see them when they are bigger. I'm fortunate to hunt in an area with a lot of deer, so I see plenty of does. I'm not judging anyone who shoots smaller bucks.

Ive passed a few. More so because of age instead of rack. If the deer fits in my freezer, its big enough. Not to say Ill pass up a good rack over a crappy one. I do appreciate a nice rack (what guy wouldnt:D), its just not my priority.

He's passing those mounts on the wall at Bass Pro Shops on his way to the archery department.
