That is a pretty funny story. I too am from IL, but luckily was able to tag a buck first shotgun season so I didn't have to sit through the cold weather today. But, my dad went out today with his muzzleloader. The funny this was, he was at Gander Mountain yesterday debating on whether to buy a new muzzleloader.
He opted not to and choose to stick with his old muzzleloader. You are probably telling yourself, so what!
The hammer on his old muzzleloader doesn't stay cocked, so he was going to have to manually hold the hammer back then manually release the hammer when he wanted to take a shot.
The funny thing is I could see your story would fit perfectly with my dad's story if he would have had a chance to fire.
If those grenades don't work, you might opt for some trail side bombings. Just a thought.

Yep I have to agree you suck LOL,It sound's as though you might have had a little buck fever to go along with your luck of seeing soooo many deer . Next time take a couple good deep breath's and calm yourself before being so quick to get off a shot without really dropping your bead on him .
This has happened to me as well while rifle hunting here in Ont ,a large doe was pushed out of the bush to me at 40yrds ,I ran off my whole clip at her STANDING right in front of me ,yes i said standing and looking at me ,she never moved again until I fired my last round ,and then she just took her time and walked away before I could waist any more ammo on her .I was in such a rush to get a shot at her i didn't remember ever putting the bead on her ,I just remember pointing and pulling the trigger .LMAO
You can well imagine how I had to explain that to the guy's

i know this, i can shoot a bow as far as i can shoot a rifle or muzzleloader. i hate the boom. it scares the crap out of me and i'm always pulling my shots in anticipation, so i don't even try.

I'm not sure if I'm more amazed that you got 4 shots offthe samemature buck or that you missed all 4 times.
Why the heck didn't he wave the white flag?
How the heck did you miss all 4 times?!
I concur - YOU SUCK!!!
