Default I don't understand

Why is it when I post a question, no one replies. I'm not upset I just was wanting to get some info on the bleat can and see if anyone has had success during early season bowhunting. Thanks

Izalbany - Welcome! I used a bleat can a few years ago that was made by Quaker Boy. I didn't have much luck with it. Personally, back then, I thought it wasn't loud enough. I'm sure there are other opinions out there. I see they are selling these bleat cans all over. I was in my local convenience store the other day and saw that they were selling them.

It may be because the question has been addressed a lot in the last couple of weeks. Try doing a search for bleat calls, or calls in general, and you'll find a lot of stuff on them.

On a side note, I have been coming here religiously for the last month or so and I have noticed that questions on calls and scents, in general, are not looked at or responded to as much as other topics. Again, that may be because the old timers (to the board) have seen the same questions year after, month after month, and day after day that they are no longer interested in reading them or replying to them. It could also be that many don't use them so they have no opinion to give.

When you do your search, make sure to hit the right forum (Bowhunting and Deerhunting would be your best shots, but they have to be done separately) and pick the 30 day search period. You'll get a good set of hits and your question will likely be answered.

1st off, Welcome to the board and don't be discouraged- I recently purchased the mini-bleat can and have been using it in the early season. I've had some luck using it in conjunction with my grunt call to pull in a 4pt. (didn't shoot him). I'm expecting better results in a few more weeks when the weather gets cooler/ rut begins.

I never liked a bleat call - because I think generally deer associate it with danger. I know this is not always the case, I just have much more confidence with a soft grunt, or no call at all.

Welcome to the board.

I agree with farm hunter, never really found the bleat to be useful. In all the years i have only heard 2 bleats and that was to her fawns to get their @ss in gear. The bleat is probably the easiest to duplicate with your mouth which requires no movement or call. I would say try mimick it in the woods and see yourself...newsflash deer don't all sound a like so you can get away with a little bit...not like goose calling where the wrong note and they are flarin.

Oh yeah Welcome, sorry you haven't gotten the response you desired. I found too some things where hot topics others not so. Just keep posting and I am sure you'll find answers & responses. Like someone else suggested if you don't do a search, you'll probably find stuff on every topic.

I used one for the first time last weekend in combination with a grunt call. It was the first time I have ever used any calls. I can't say for sure what did it, but I was able to get the attention of two bucks (spike and 4x4) that were 40 yards away and grazing away from my stand, they dropped what they were doing and made a beeline through heavy underbrush, and came in under my stand (using the same path I came in on) to see what was going on. Of course I had sprinkled enough scent around to keep their attention.

i bought and used the lil' can from primos last year during gun season in late nov. had some luck with a yearling doe who came with in 20 yds from me untill she realized what i really was. she fell down trying to get away as fast as she could. it was one of the funniest things i've ever seen in the woods.
