In my area, hunting always gets a lot harder after rifle season. Hundreds of thousands of hunters infiltrate the woods, shoot alot of deer, and the rest just go into hiding.

How about in your neck of the woods? How much tougher does the hunting get after rifle season closes?

I used to think that also.(for about 20 years) The last few years I've had fabulous hunting a couple weeks after the gun season until end of Dec. You just have to repattern the deer. December is really great hunting.

GoodLuck!

Well yes and no..... I own my own land along with my sister and her family and my parents. As such we have 5 hunters hunting 460 acres... I bow hunt only but the others gun hunt.... However, we have a select harvest, so the weapon really isn't an issue... Also, in MS, the good deer hunting doesn't even start until gun season has been in for almost a month......

On top of that I have thousands of acres in a handful of bow only NWR's that I try to spend a little time on each year......

So for me, no, it doesn't get harder, matter of a fact, it will get easier over the next 2 months......
